Mindful Shopping With Zulily

Hi there my beautiful lovelies! Hope you guys are doing well and staying safe. Today, I want to quick recap about about mindful shopping and deals you can get at Zulily. You can do mindful shopping with Zulily and get the things you need while saving money.

Mindful Shopping

As I have mentioned few times before, I am particularly guilty of being caught in the frenzy of marked down items and annual sales. We purchase things we don’t need, items that are neither our need or practical. Why? Because they are on sale. A smart and mindful shopper will carve out an afternoon just for shopping and will not settle for anything less than exactly what they are looking for. Mindful shopping is a practice of mindful living. Taking the time to actually choose to shop, will actually help you save money and, in turn help you minimize clutter since you will only buy what you need. So what am I look for? As part of mindful shopping, I am actually sitting down and writing down the essential things that I need. Additionally, I am also keeping in mind upcoming holiday season, loved ones birthdays, wedding to do some research and shop a head for those. That is not mindless shopping. So what are some of the sales you can forward? A lot of essential items and gifts (for upcoming occasions and holidays). However, you can still get some great deals now on some of the following items. Remember, I am just giving you the scoop in case you need these items. You buys just because of a sale. But, if you have to buy it (for your or loved ones) then why not enjoy the sales.

What is Available at Zulily

Zulily is my favorite shopping site after Amazon. This is because here I can get great deals on brand names, and everyday items. They promise to beat Amazon and Walmart price. I have bought clothing, household essentials, electronics, live plants, crafts, home decors, toys, and many different things from this site. You can get brands like Marc Jacobs, Juicy Couture and more. I even got Junior Cheesecake, Boxed pantry items, asian-inspired crafts, Disney apparels, Marvel tees, swimwear, Dyson, home basics, kitchen item, what ever you are looking for, Zulily is a great site to try.

Hope you enjoyed this post. Please let me know about your experience with comment below. What else help you anchor to the present moment?

Many parents have lost their job during the pandemic. Sadly, that shows no sign of stopping. Your donation can bring relief to the millions worried about where their next meal will come from. Ocean City - A Mindful Travel Paradise

Ocean City – A Mindful Travel Paradise

Hi there my beautiful lovelies! Hope you guys are doing well and staying safe. Today I want to talk to you about Ocean City – a mindful travel paradise.

Ocean City

Ocean City is a resort town in the U.S. state of Maryland between the Atlantic Ocean and Isle of Wight Bay. It features miles of beach and a wooden boardwalk lined with restaurants, shops and hotels. It has recently made Trip Advisor list of the nation’s Top 10 beaches. It’s three-mile boardwalk was voted by the Travel Channel as one of America’s best! Ocean City, Maryland is filled with natural beauty. What makes me crave this beautiful place is the beautiful sunrise and sunset. The vast ocean lures me to the beauty within and helps me anchor only to the moment.

Mindful Travel

As human, we’re always chasing that ever-elusive feeling of awe and have high expectations for every adventure. We want to feel fully absorbed in these cherished moments to remember how incredible they felt. After all, that’s what mindful travel is all about. As explained in Discover SilverSea, “the practice of mindfulness while traveling can help us feel more intensely immersed in the ephemeral. One of its essential elements is mindful meditation, the ancient Eastern tradition of sitting quietly while thoroughly and continually focusing on the moment for several minutes at a time. Mindful meditation during travel can help alleviate stress, and now doctors even prescribe it to patients suffering from chronic pain.”

Every year, we try to go to this beautiful place during summer. Whether the beautiful vast ocean view or the beautiful interaction with the locals and the food, I engulf every beautiful moment of my experience. It serve as a beautiful mental detox for me. Moreover, if you are a foodie, it will be sure to love to enjoy its connection to Chesapeake Bay, a waterway known for its blue crabs. Just head over to the Crab Bag. This quaint seafood restaurant serves the finest Eastern Shore-style seafood. The Crab Bag specializes in preparing and serving the best and largest Blue Crab. Just remember to pause for a minute or two before you begin eating to contemplate everything and everyone it took to bring the meal to your table. Silently express your gratitude for the opportunity to enjoy the delicious food and the companions you’re enjoying it with. Also be attentive to color, texture, aroma, and even the sounds different foods make as you eat them. As you chew your food, try identifying all the ingredients, especially seasonings.

I just love practicing mindful meditation on vacation by taking a few minutes out of my day to focus my attention on my breathing. The beautiful waves makes it equally easy to practice mindfulness. This helps clear any nagging thoughts or other clutter whirling within my mind, and I find that it especially help reduce negative thoughts. Taking a moment to breathe helps to dispel stress-inducing thoughts and is an easy way to improve your travel experience through meditation. I tend to focus my attention to the ocean so that I am entirely in the present moment.

My dear lovelies! What place takes you to the present moment and give you tranquility and peace. Please let me know in comment below.

Paradise Plaza Inn - Hindrance To Mindfulness

Paradise Plaza Inn – Hindrance To Mindfulness

Hi there my beautiful lovelies! Hope you guys are doing well and staying safe. Today I want to talk to you about my recent stay in Paradise Plaza Inn and how it hinders a mindful travel. Paradise Plaza Inn – Hindrance To Mindfulness

Mindful Travel

Mindful travel is a phrase that is becoming increasingly common. So, what is mindful travel? Mindful travel is an approach to travel — and to life — that is more aware of the impact our travels and our decisions have on the environment and on local communities. As exploringwild website calls it, mindful travel is the art oft Traveling gently and authentically. It increasing our awareness of the vivid beauty of the new surrounding and anchors us to the moment around us. Perhaps you can still recall the beautiful smell of the local food or the vastness of the beautiful surroundings from you favorite vacation.

Hindrance to Mindfulness

Paradise Plaza Inn - Hindrance To Mindfulness

It done correctly a conscious travel can help you hear your inner voice. However, there are always things and places that can hinder that process. Paradise Plaza Inn in Ocean City Maryland is one such hindrance. Don’t get me wrong, this place wasn’t as bad few years ago or perhaps my mind less conscious about my travel then. I booked my trip with this hotel because it’s oceanfront view of the Ocean City Boardwalk. After more than two years of no travel, I was more open to travel mindfully. I am not against small local business. In fact, I have spent many days in local hotels just to step away from the home-bound COVID environment while taking all the precautions.

That being said everything about this hotel distracted me enjoy the moment. The tiny balcony had pool of water and what looked like to me was moldy. The all the faucets were leaky. The balcony sliding door wouldn’t lock. What made this hotel equally awful was the unfriendly staff and the high price of $500 per night. Even hotels in beautiful hotels Orlando and Miami is not that expensive. They didn’t provide water or tea. All those things constantly distracted me from fully engulfing the beautiful ocean view. While I was inside the hotel room I was staring at my phone—practicing the complete opposite of mindful travel.

If you want to enjoy more mindful moment during your vacation, please avoid hotels like Paradise Plaza Inn. Don’t be lured by the hype of oceanfront balcony. It’s just not worth it. However, I did take the conscious effort to practice mindfully. Stay tuned for upcoming post on Ocean City Maryland and My Mindful Travel Experience. One thing for sure, next time I am in Ocean City, which I will be, I will avoid Paradise Plaza Inn.

My dear lovelies! Did you have a awful hotel experience? Please let me know about your experience with comment below.

Quote of the Day – Dreaming

Hi there my beautiful lovelies! Hope you guys are doing well and staying safe. Today, I want to talk to you about the quote of the day about dream.

Quote of the Day

I loved this quote. If you want to dream you need to hope and remove doubt. Hope and dream are two terms that are used to discuss our expectations and desires for the future. Dream can be a cherished ambition or desire, or an idea created in your imagination. Hope is a feeling of expectation and desire for a particular thing to happen. This quote reminds me of what Brandi Caskey said, “Hope is what motivates us and keeps us going through the hard times. We dream of something better than we presently have, pushing us further. There is no person alive that isn’t filled with dreams, goals and ideals. These things are a part of life and human nature.”

Hence, I like the idea that in order to dream to need to feed our hopes to motivate it and keep us going, and doubt will do the opposite. It crushes our hope and dreams. If we want to dream, we need to expand our hopes and crush our doubts. As Richard Branson, founder of Virgin Group said, “doubt kills more dreams than failure ever will…Whenever doubt creeps in, I remind myself that dreams aren’t linear. I also think of all the brilliant innovations and discoveries that would have come to nothing if their inventors had given in to their doubts. I’m sure everyone from Thomas Edison to Gertrude Stein doubted their dreams from time-to-time, but the difference is they didn’t let it knock them off-course.” If you demand proof from your doubt, you’ll be able to either squash it or solve the problem. Either way your dreams and ideas will be better for it. Remember our brain is logical and it loves logic. So, feed it with logic to squash your doubt.

My dear lovelies! I would love to hear what you think about this quote? How would you interpret it? Please leave your response in the comment below. I look forward to hearing your perspectives.

Step By Step Acrylic Paint Challenge #8 | Kungfu Panda 3 Painting Tutorial

Hi there my beautiful lovelies! Hope you guys are doing well and staying safe. The past months have been nothing but stressful for me. Even meditation did not help with this level of stress. Hence I decided to focus on something I love. I have been painting and drawing for a while now. However, over the past several years, life got in the way. I love to paint.

Step By Step Painting

Nevertheless, the recent stressor has compelled me to stop and take a look at what I am doing and can do to help with my stress. It is then that I decided to take up my sketch pencil and my paints. What I forgot with my busy life, is how art has helped me to step back and look at my life and then directly address any issue. Whenever you are consumed in your art, there are times, when it’s very hard to see the big picture. It is then you need to take a break and come back with a new perspective. You will be able to see what you have done so far and where you want to go next.

My paintings have allowed me to take that break and come back with a new perspective on the stressor. That in turn has made it easier for me to find the next step toward mindfulness. My art has become my new mindful meditation. Today I want to share with you a step-by-step tutorial on one such art and I hope you can find it as much therapeutic as it has been for me.

If you enjoy what you see please subscribe to my brand new channel dedicated completely to my artwork. Today, I want to share with you a step-by-step painting replicating the painting of Intagam’s @kebirch. I am no professional artist and I don’t claim to be one. I am an amateur artist who paints for stress relief. I have painted with oil paint before, but have not worked with acrylic paint for long. Hence, I will bring you my amateur step-by-step acrylic paintings of various YouTubers. Hope you enjoy the video.

No Kid Hungry:

America’s kids need us. The coronavirus is closing schools nationwide, and millions of vulnerable children are losing the school meals they depend on. For some, it’s the only food they’ll receive on a given day. We have a plan to feed kids, but we need your help today to continue our work to ensure every kid gets three meals a day. Food Bank of Maryland:

Manna Food Center, a nonprofit organization, strives to eliminate hunger in Montgomery County through food distribution, education, and advocacy. Millions of children go to bed hungry in America every year, sadly it’s worse now! Today, 14 million children regularly miss meals — three times more than during the Great Recession and five times more than before the pandemic.

Many parents have lost their job during the pandemic. Sadly, that shows no sign of stopping. Your donation can bring relief to the millions worried about where their next meal will come from. It’s even worse for Latino and Black families, whose rates of nutrition insecurity have spiked to 25% and 30%. In the world’s wealthiest country, this is unconscionable.

Even before the pandemic, the U.S. Department of Agriculture estimated that 37 million people in America struggled with hunger and nutrition. The Centers for Disease Control reports that 76% of people killed by COVID-19 had at least one underlying condition, most of which were diet-related. Diet-related diseases also fuel skyrocketing health care costs, which rose from 5% to 28% of the federal budget in the past 50 years.

Let’s make the world better, kinder, and brighter. Every dollar you give will create real change. $1 will feed 5 hungry children here in the US, but $1,000 will feed 50,000 starving children overseas. Be the good in the lives of many by giving right now.

Quote of the Day – Serenity

Hi there my beautiful lovelies! Hope you guys are doing well and staying safe. Today, I want to talk to you about the quote of the day – serenity.

Quote of the Day – Serenity

I loved this quote. What is serenity? It is the state of being calm, peaceful, and untroubled. That state should not be the end of our soul’s journey. It should be part of our soul’s journey not the end. The journey of our soul through our human life is an opportunity given to us to experience being ‘alive’ in many dimensions. The great universal intention has manifested into a physical form as us human beings besides many other forms. Serenity or the state of being calm, peaceful, and untroubled is just a part of that journey. I believe that we don’t need to be in that state all our life. A soul’s journey is about all the ups and downs but most importantly how we handle those ups and downs.

If we live intentionally, upholding our deepest values in life, we can brighten our soul’s journey. I am not perfect up it’s those small imperfections that makes our life that much more meaningful. Remember Mona Lisa painting? Through all the ups and downs let us learn to handle life with grace and authenticity, being true to ourselves, and we too will be able to reach serenity and accept being part of our soul’s journey.

My dear lovelies! I would love to hear what you think about this quote? How would you interpret it? Please leave your response in the comment below. I look forward to hearing your perspectives.

Drink
Hi There my lovelies!Hope you are doing well and staying safe. Today I want to share a favorite recipe of mine. Hope you enjoy it as much as I liked sharing it. My recipe is nonalcoholic but you can add your favorite alcohol to spruce it up.

If you are anything like me, I bet you enjoy the delicious refreshing drink during the summer.  Today, I want to share with one such recipe that is absolutely heavenly. I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed it. It’s quite easy to make as well and is full of flavor.

Ingredients:

  1. 18 oz Green Tea
  2. 0.5 oz Mango Syrup. I use sugar-free syrup.
  3. 3/4 tsp Dragon Fruit powder
  4. Frozen berries and strawberries
  5. 1 wedge of lemon🍋

Instructions:

I mixed the ingredients with ice in a 24oz Cocktail Shaker and served it in a glass of your choice. The drink is very refreshing, especially on a hot summer’s day.

Let me know how yours come out.

What are some of your favorite healthy and delicious recipes? I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I love writing it. Don’t forget to check out my Facebook Page and follow me on Instagram @forevernij.

Now the mindful eating part. Follow this steps to heighten your awareness and enjoy the drink from a whole new perspective.

  • 1. Do a visual inspection of the drink, this will activate your senses
  • 2. Further enhance your senses by identifying the aromas by breathing through your nose.
  • 3. Assess both the taste structure (sour, bitter, sweet) and flavors derived from the back of you nose.
  • 4. It’s finally time to taste! Take a sip, not a large swallow, of the drink into your mouth and try sucking on it as if pulling it through a straw.

Hope you enjoy the refreshing and energizing drink. Please share with me your refreshing drink recipe for the summer. I will share it on my post with you as the author.

Step By Step Acrylic Paint Challenge #6 | Cherries 🍒 Painting Tutorial

Learn from The Past – Don’t Dwell On It

Hi there my beautiful lovelies! Hope you guys are doing well and staying safe. Yesterday, I spoke to you about living in the moment and acknowledging the past. Today, I want to talk to you about acknowledging and learning from the past. Learn from The Past – Don’t Dwell On It.

The Importance of the Past

Why is it important for us to learn from the past? According to the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Department of History, “Because history gives us the tools to analyze and explain problems in the past, it positions us to see patterns that might otherwise be invisible in the present – thus providing a crucial perspective for understanding (and solving!) current and future problems.” Our past gives us the guide to live our present. It will be foolish of us not to seek guidance from our past and repeat the same mistakes again and again. As University of Wisconsin puts it nicely, “studying the diversity of human experience helps us appreciate cultures, ideas, and traditions that are not our own – and to recognize them as meaningful products of specific times and places. History helps us realize how different our lived experience is from that of our ancestors, yet how similar we are in our goals and values.”

Not to Dwell in the Past

Photo by Julia Volk on Pexels.com

However, it’s not healthy to dwell so much in the past. Our past should be there to guide us, not take over our present. It is not healthy to think so much about the past. It can stir up unpleasant memories and can enhance negative feelings knowing that there is nothing you can do to change the past. Letting go of the past can help you have a happy future. We should acknowledge our past, learn from it and then learn to move on. As one part of dealing with anxiety, I have learned to look at my past, learn from the good and the bad, and then move on. I will not change anything from the past, not even the negatives and regrets, as they are all part of who I am today. I acknowledge their existence and try to live in the moment with repeating the same mistakes. I am who I am today because of my past. Hence, I acknowledge my past, the good, bad, and the ugly, and tell myself it is just the past not my present and move on.

My dear lovelies! How do you deal with your past? Please let me know about your experience with comment below.
