My Poem About the Capitol Insurrection

Today, as the second of impeachment trial of Trump is about to start. I want to dedicated this poem to the day of insurrection. I hope you enjoy my poem. I would love to hear your feedback.

“To storm the Capitol, to smash windows, to occupy offices, and to threaten the safety of duly elected officials is not protest. It is insurrection. The world is watching—and like so many other Americans, I am shocked and saddened that our nation, so long a beacon of light, hope and democracy, has come to such a dark moment.”

– President Joe Biden
Insurrection

The Insurrection

By Munziba Khan

I turned on the TV and saw the chaos,
 They call it insurrection
But it’s actually people ignorance that the leader preyed on
Because he can’t accept the result of the election.
He asked this supporters to take this egregious action.
It’s was his last attempt out of desperation.
They stormed into the Capitol with violence in mind
What they have done is democracy behind.
He insighted his supporters to take violent action.
It’s was his disparate attempt to overturn the result of the election.
His minions in the party, failed to put the blame on him,
Making it clear that their integrity is dim.
 He watched with amazement
As the chaos unfolded in front of him.
He was desperate as he very well knew,
That his chances were nothing but grim.
It was a day of chaos with brave life lost.
 When the leader insighted violence,
To stay in power at any cost.
Oh my broken heart wept in sorrow.
Looking at the grim prospect of morrow.
What made me mad is the lack of condemnation
That his party failed to show
For his betrayal of this wonderful nation.
He put people’s lives in danger.
His tendency to toward lies and violence
 Should not be any stranger.
The insurrectionists who desecrated the house of people
Are enemies within, and are no sheeple.
What made me angry is the hypocrisy of treatment
That was shown towards the White supremacists
With the shear act of retreatment.
Nevertheless we saw the heroes fight
 With so much resistant,
These heroes fought with all their might.
Today the insurrectionist is being put to trial
For his insight for which there’s no denial.
But his minions calls it unconstitutional
As they abandoned their values and integrity
That was once here not now diminutional.
As for me, I am full of emotion
Seeing the fall of a party
That was once full of integrity and devotion.

My Poem About Beautiful New Day

I want to dedicated this poem to the beautiful dawn. I hope you enjoy my poem. I would love to hear your feedback.

“The morning is good because we remember that no matter what went wrong the previous days, we just got a perfect opportunity to rewrite history and do better.”

A new day

A Beautiful New Dawn.

By Munziba Khan

I look at the sky, and see hints of color
It’s a start of a brand new day
 That’s like no other.
What was once dark, soon will be light
Bringing in new hope, pleasant and bright.
Soon the sun will come bright and shining
And will spread it golden glow
 With its beautiful light.
It’s a new beginning, a fresh new start
Bringing new song of hope, in every heart.
The darkness of yesterday will soon fade away
What was kept unsaid, you can now say.
I move the curtains and take few deep breaths.
With my morning Joe in hand,
 I admire nature’s beautiful depths.
There’s flicks of orange, gray, and gold,
In the new dawn’s sky that’s beautiful and bold.
 Washing off failures of yesterday,
And bring in new dreams and gift of today.
The pearly golden ray, tenderly kiss my face.
I take in everything that’s good
 With heart full of grace.
I bask myself in the morning sun,
 A gentle supernova like none.
Morning marks the end of yesterday,
And beginning of a wonderful new day.
I start my day with gratitude for me and others.
 Since tomorrow is not promised,
I may not get a chance another.
I listen to what being said with my senses and my soul
I listen to the melodies of morning bird,
And let the sweet smell of glowing flowers, saturate my soul.
I leave the house, and let the dewy morning feel my heart.
Ready for what’s to come, ready to leave my mark.

Lonely Woman

By Munziba Khan

She looks ahead and sees no end
To the vast horizon in front of her
Which is now her only friend.
She looks to the left and looks to the left
And sees the setting sun’s ray of which she’s bereft.
Loneliness is her other friend
That is how she feels
Drowned with cloud of sadness
It’s the company of someone that her heart appeals.
With deep ocean of despair, she feels numb
Lonely, lost, and frightened,
Describe what her life has become.
Her courage is going dim,
Her strength is melting.
Like the darkness of the winter grim,
There’s no word that may be helping.
It’s dark but she does not care
The lonely night is filled with so much sorrow
That her heart can’t bear.
The sea of emotions fills her eyes with tears.
It is the darkness, which is what she fears.
She starts walking down the hill,
Waiting for the night, so quite so still.

Moment of Despair

By Munziba Khan

I look at the twinkling stars with a sigh
With pain my heart, in bed I lie.
Once it was there and now it’s gone
What was so alive, now dead and gone.
Like a zombie I feel like a living dead.
With a heavy heart I feel so dread.
I close my eyes, I see the fire.
Burning everything in sight,
Leaving a view so dire.
I try to breathe with a monster in my heart,
Which can’t be seen but is sour and tart.
In the world, there is so much violence and hate.
There is grief and anger trying to control our fate.
As experts in deception,
They fool themselves often
All the lies and deceptions, make life dull and rotten.
I hate getting flashbacks
For things I don’t want to remember
The struggles I have, make my heart so tender.
I drown my pain, in the deep ocean of despair.
My broken soul is screaming, fighting to grasp fresh air.
With eyelids closed, it comes back to me.
In sleep I fear, I will not be free.
The monster is inside, can’t be seen.
Making me feel lost, anxious, trapped and uncertain,
Pricking deep into my heart and into my skin.
The mask I wear is the one I want you to see.
The mask I wear is what you want me to be.
I refuse to be what you want me to be.
I may not be perfect but I am me.
But don't be in fear as there is hope
Light glows in each of us that helps us cope.
One thing I know, when things goes wrong
Life has a reason that makes us strong.
I stand with two paths in front of me.
I took the path less travelled by,
And I know I will be free.
