I consider myself fortunate to have good health, a full-time job, and a roof over my head. However, there are still so many people who are struggling to put food on their tables. Please join me to help those who are struggling. If you have good health, full-time jobs, and a roof over your head, please join me to help those who are struggling. Whether you donate $5 or $500, you will make a huge difference in someone’s life.

No Kid Hungry:

America’s kids need us. The coronavirus is closing schools nationwide, and millions of vulnerable children are losing the school meals they depend on. For some, it’s the only food they’ll receive on a given day. We have a plan to feed kids, but we need your help today to continue our work to ensure every kid gets three meals a day. Food Bank of Maryland:

PLEASE DONATE ANY AMOUNT YOU CAN AND SHARE THE POST WITH EVERYONE YOU KNOW.

Manna Food Center, a nonprofit organization, strives to eliminate hunger in Montgomery County through food distribution, education, and advocacy. Millions of children go to bed hungry in America every year, sadly it’s worse now! Today, 14 million children regularly miss meals — three times more than during the Great Recession and five times more than before the pandemic.

Many parents have lost their job during the pandemic. Sadly, that shows no sign of stopping. Your donation can bring relief to the millions worried about where their next meal will come from. It’s even worse for Latino and Black families, whose rates of nutrition insecurity have spiked to 25% and 30%. In the world’s wealthiest country, this is unconscionable.

Even before the pandemic, the U.S. Department of Agriculture estimated 37 million people in America struggled with hunger and nutrition. The Centers for Disease Control reports 76% of people killed by COVID-19 had at least one underlying condition, most of which were diet-related. Diet-related diseases also fuel skyrocketing health care costs, which rose from 5% to 28% of the federal budget in the past 50 years.

Let’s make the world better, kinder, brighter. Every dollar you give will create real change. $1 will feed 5 hungry children here in the US, but $1,000 will feed 50,000 starving children overseas. Be the good in the lives of many by giving right now.

  7. ½ tsp parsley
  8. 1 tsp Italian Seasoning
  9. ½ tsp black pepper
  10. Salt to season
  11. 2 Tbs oil (I use extra virgin olive oil, but can try using extra virgin coconut oil as well)
  12. ½ Stick I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter
  13. 1 medium jalapeno chopped
  14. Chopped cilantro chopped
  15. 1 bunch scallion chopped (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Tenderize the chicken breast with meat blade-tenderizer.
  2. Marinate the chicken overnight in the refrigerator with a mixture of yogurt, garlic, ginger, basil, parsley, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  3. Brush olive oil or Pam on baking pan and place the marinated chicken. Add thinly butter and red onion on top of each chicken, and add bake in the oven for 1 ½ to 2 hours at 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Add the juice from the marinade into the chicken as well.
  4. Five minutes before taking your chicken out of the oven, top cilantro, jalapeno, and/or scallion.

Let me know how yours come out. I loved how amazing this Greek yogurt chicken was. We served it with steamed and lightly seasoned beans, mashed potato (made from scratch), and corn on the cob. CAVA Greek Mediterranean Grill

Hi there my lovelies! Hope you are doing well. Today I am writing to talk to you about of my favorite palaces that opened up near my house, known as CAVA Greek Mediterranean Grill.

It is a fast-casual spot that spun off of a more upscale Greek restaurant in Washington, D.C. It delivers the kind of chef-driven culture and clean, high-quality sourcing that you would expect at a sit-down place. My first introduction to this happened in Columbia Heights, DC. It was love at first bite. I have gone to that place many times.

When I completely moved to Gaithersburg MD, I always missed it’s build-a-meal concept of ($7.75 to $8.85) starting with a pita or a choice of healthy bases including brown rice, black lentils, organic arugula or is called “SuperGreens, which is a tasty salad mix of raw kale, arugula, and lettuce.

Their produce is sourced locally, primarily from farms using organic practices. You have a choice of up to three spreads (made fresh daily) like citrusy organic hummus, creamy tzatziki, eggplant and red pepper dip and their addictive “crazy feta,” which is feta whipped with jalapeños. On top of that you can have roasted veggies or braised lamb or beef, spicy lamb meatball, crisp vegan falafel, succulent grass-fed lamb or beef braised with turmeric and coriander and grilled lemon-oregano chicken. All meats are antibiotic- and hormone-free.

Finally end with endless amount of toppings and dressings such as pickled banana peppers, crumbled feta, cauliflower quinoa tabbouleh, tomato crisps, and if you want some sumac radish. As for dressings nothing says yum then lemon herb tahini with sriracha greek yogurt.

At the end of this trip I know you will be coming for more. I thing that that did not empress me is their Strawberry Mint Lime drink. The mint flavor was overpowering and I just had to throw away my drink. My sister who just had a lemonade was not dissatisfied. Between Roti Mediterranean Grill and this one, CAVA by far success in satisfying your taste buds in a healthy way.

What other places do you recommend to people that elevates your tastes buds and yet is healthy. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Taylor Gourmet in Washington D.C.

IMG_20150825_125631[1]

Hi There! Hope you are having a start of a wonderful weekend.Today,  I will talk about my experience eating from a menu from Taylor Gourmeta Philadelphian gourmet fast food type eatery located in Washington D.C. I have not have the pleasure of personally eating eating at one of their locations but I have ordered online from them few times.

History: Before I describe my experience about their food, let me give some about their background. This unique place was started by two Philadelphian buddies in 2008 grew up on what they called “the flavors of Philadephia’s 9th street Italian market and hoagies served by countless mom and pops shops throughout the city”. They brought their unique Philly hoagies and salamies to the H Street NE corridors and few more locations for us to enjoy. Their famous clients include none other than our current First Family.

rissotto2

FoodI have had the pleasure of ordering online from them few times with my co-workers. My very first experience was their famous Ben Franklin Hoagies. It has a choice of breaded or grilled chicken with marinara sauce and sharp provolone cheese. What can I say about a their hoagies. It’s humongous, or at least for me. It’s a 16″ hoagie. I had to cut the hoagie into half and leave the other half for later. It’s great. My friend, who is a native Philadelphian said that Taylor had the closest authentic Philly Cheese steak that she has ever tasted outside of Philadelphia and that in itself is a huge accomplishment in my sense.  Now for their Rissotto Balls. These are fried mozzarella balls served in marinara sauce. The first time I tasted this appetizers, I fell in love them and every time I order from this place I have to have my rissotto balls in my order. These mouth watering fried cheese has the perfect amount of cheese with a crunchy outside. Now, if you in a food for salad there are plenty of options for you here. I for one love their Love Park Salad with arugula, pastina, cherry tomatoes, sweet basil pesto, fresh mozzarella, and Taylor vinaigrette. I love adding grilled chicken to my salad for extra protein. This mouth watering salad has the perfect combination of favors to play a perfect harmony with my taste buds.

Locations: Taylor Gourmet has locations in H Street, NE, between 4th and 5th Street K St NW, in Dupont Circle, and in Penn Quarter in Washington DC. It’s Virginia location include Fairfax and Ballston, Arlington locations. It’s also located in Bethesda neighborhood of Maryland.

Taylor, started by two Philly buddies brings in unique Philly tastes to the Washington Metro area. If you live near any of their locations don’t forget to check them out or order online. Hope you enjoy reading this blog as much I have enjoyed writing it.
