Mindful Shopping With Zulily

Hi there my beautiful lovelies! Hope you guys are doing well and staying safe. Today, I want to quick recap about about mindful shopping and deals you can get at Zulily. You can do mindful shopping with Zulily and get the things you need while saving money.

Mindful Shopping

As I have mentioned few times before, I am particularly guilty of being caught in the frenzy of marked down items and annual sales. We purchase things we don’t need, items that are neither our need or practical. Why? Because they are on sale. A smart and mindful shopper will carve out an afternoon just for shopping and will not settle for anything less than exactly what they are looking for. Mindful shopping is a practice of mindful living. Taking the time to actually choose to shop, will actually help you save money and, in turn help you minimize clutter since you will only buy what you need. So what am I look for? As part of mindful shopping, I am actually sitting down and writing down the essential things that I need. Additionally, I am also keeping in mind upcoming holiday season, loved ones birthdays, wedding to do some research and shop a head for those. That is not mindless shopping. So what are some of the sales you can forward? A lot of essential items and gifts (for upcoming occasions and holidays). However, you can still get some great deals now on some of the following items. Remember, I am just giving you the scoop in case you need these items. You buys just because of a sale. But, if you have to buy it (for your or loved ones) then why not enjoy the sales.

What is Available at Zulily

Zulily is my favorite shopping site after Amazon. This is because here I can get great deals on brand names, and everyday items. They promise to beat Amazon and Walmart price. I have bought clothing, household essentials, electronics, live plants, crafts, home decors, toys, and many different things from this site. You can get brands like Marc Jacobs, Juicy Couture and more. I even got Junior Cheesecake, Boxed pantry items, asian-inspired crafts, Disney apparels, Marvel tees, swimwear, Dyson, home basics, kitchen item, what ever you are looking for, Zulily is a great site to try.

Hope you enjoyed this post. Please let me know about your experience with comment below. What else help you anchor to the present moment?

Many parents have lost their job during the pandemic. Sadly, that shows no sign of stopping. Your donation can bring relief to the millions worried about where their next meal will come from. Diet-related diseases also fuel skyrocketing health care costs, which rose from 5% to 28% of the federal budget in the past 50 years.

Medium Post Four: Poem By Sarnina (Two)

I am an artist using, using my artwork as an outlet to let my ADHD self free. It also allows me to use my right brain, a key component to mindful living and being self-aware. Just as paintings are my outlets, poems are my sister’s outlet to let her dyslexics self run free. With her permission, I am sharing one such poem. Please show her the same support you have shown me.

This poem is dedicated to the one person who was her friend, mentor, confidant, and guardian angel. With his passing, she lost her best friend, mentor, confidant, and guardian angel. Hope you can feel the same grief in this poem, as I do. In her poem, she pours her heart out, one thing that is hard for her to do due to her dyslexia. Hope you will be able to connect with her emotion through her poems. She wrote this poem dedicating to our grandpa just a few days before the death of our grandma nine years ago

Frozen In TIme2

In this poem, I can feel the raw emotion that my sister is usually unable to express verbally.  Through these poems, I want to make sure that others can see the same raw emotions that I can see. I hope you can connect to her through her poems. What kind of emotions are you feeling in this poem? What emotions can you connect to, through this poem? I am using my own drawing to portray the emotion that I felt while reading this poem.

I hope you enjoy this poem as much as I enjoyed sharing it. Don’t forget to check out my Facebook Page and follow me on Instagram @forevernij. Are you on Bloglovin? Guided Meditation for Stress Relief and Sleep

Hi there my beautiful lovelies! Hope you all are doing well and staying safe. When was the last time you sat down and took a deep breathe? Life and it’s moments are fleeting by fast. Whether starting to go back to work in person or just dealing with the fast moving life in general, it can be quite stressful. Today, I will discuss with you some self-guided ways to deal with stress. Let us do a guided meditation for stress relief and sleep.

Impact of Stress

According to the Pharmacy Times, stress can have serious health implications, increasing the risk of cardiovascular disease and exacerbating medical conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and hypertension. Stress is unavoidable, but learning to manage it effectively is critical. Stress is a fact of life and can affect individuals in a variety of ways.

Stress can take a toll not just mentally, but also physically and even financially. A new study finds that certain socioeconomic and ethnic groups in the United States face a high burden of systematic stressors, putting them at increased risk for a variety of health hazards and reducing their life expectancy. According to the American Psychological Association, mental health experts synthesized research on stress and health among certain socioeconomic, racial, and ethnic groups to show the long-term effects of stress. According to the report, men who make in the top 1 percent of income live almost 15 years longer than those in the bottom 1 percent. For women, the difference is 10 years of longevity.

Relieving Stress

Stress management gives you a range of tools to reset and to recalibrate your alarm system. It can help your mind and body adapt (resilience). Without it, your body might always be on high alert. Over time, chronic stress can lead to serious health problems. Hence, let us all make a special effort if set aside little bit of our time everyday to address stress. Both our body and soul will thank us for it.

My lovelies! Hope you enjoyed this post. Please let me know about your experience with comment below.

Quote Of The Day – Being Yourself

Hi there my beautiful lovelies hope you are doing well and staying safe. Today I will share with the inspirational quote of the day.

Quote of the Day

I found this quote very interesting. Never apologize for being yourself. You are a unique part of the puzzle we call life. Being you allow you to be free. Be true to yourself. Be proud to be you. It will help you live intentionally. I love to be apologetically me. I may be weird, corky, and simply blah, but that’s who I am. I will not apologize for being me and will hold life down following the societal so called norm. If anyone has a problem with that, I don’t care. Just be you. Your life will love your for it.

My dear lovelies! I would love to hear what you think about this quote? How would you interpret it? Please leave your response in the comment below. I look forward to hearing your perspectives.

Mission Statement

My Individual Mission Statement

Hi there my beautiful lovelies! Hope you guys are doing well and staying safe. Today I want to talk to you about my mission statement in life.

What is a Mission Statement?

Mission Statement

A mission is a formal summary of the aims and values of a company, organization, or individual. A mission statement has three parts: purpose, values, and goals. It defines our values, who we are on how we define success. It helps us stay focus to meet our long-term goals.

What is my Mission Statement?

Keeping the above decision in life I have tried to create my personal mission statement. This mission statement has given me a chance to take a step back whenever I deviate from it. As I have mentioned to you earlier, I believe in living intentionally, and having a mission statement has allowed me to ensure that follow my values with everything I do. My dear lovelies my mission statement in life is:

To strive to be the best version of myself at every aspect on my life, to live in the moment without self-judgement – with love, faith, honesty, integrity, diligence and open mind.

My dear friends, if you have been following me for a while, then you know that I truly believe in living in the moment and always strive to be the best version of myself. I follow mindful-based meditation to help me stay in the moment. Even at work, I don’t try to dwell on things. Instead, I try to learn from any situation good or bad, and work hard to build on that. Why do I do this? This is because, my over 15-year career has taught me firsthand, that dwelling on any one experience will hurt me, mentally and physically. This is especially true for negative experiences. I ended up being sick and have frequently visited the hospital due the physical impact of my negative emotion.

In my personal life, I try to be the best version of myself by living in the moment.  Additionally, I try to ensure that my interaction with family, friends and even strangers are always honest, and non-judgmental. This has allowed me to build a strong relationship with friends and family and I have learned so much about myself from my interactions with others. If there is any negative interaction, I take a deep breath and take the experience as a learning moment. I am not perfect, so I do have negative moments but I really try not to dwell on them and try to make sure things are good because life is too short and I don’t want to live with regrets down the road.

My dear beautiful lovelies! I would love to hear about your individual mission statements. Please comment below.

Temporary Job

Should You Take a Temporary Job?

Temporary Job

Hi there my beautiful lovelies! Hope you guys are doing well and staying safe. Today, I want to talk to you about a question I get a lot. It’s if it is a good idea to take temporary contract position.

Should You Take a Temporary Job?

The short answer is it depends. I had a lot of messages through LinkedIn about 6 months position with a possibility to extend.

When Is It A Good Idea to Accept Temporary Job?

Temporary Job Gives You Much Needed Experience

If you are very new in your career with little or no previous experience, it is a good idea to accept to take a temporary job position. I can tell you from my over 2 decades of work experience since high school, employers prefer some experience. It’s an added cost, human time used, to train someone for a position. Hence, I can tell you that if I see someone with 6 months experience and someone with no experience, I would should the person with 6 months of experience. If you are right out of school it is a good idea to take that short-term position. After I graduated from the undergrad program I had a very hard time finding a position. I was also applying for grad school. Whether it’s a potential employer or a potential graduate program, both prefer a candidate with some experience.

Temporary JobFills Any Gaps in Resume/Application

No one likes a candidate who just sits at home. That does not come out as a good experience. Hence, whether you were laid off from your previous experience or you are right out of school, having a temporary job shows your dedication and hard work. You can explain to a potential employer or school that the temporary job was to ensure continuous learning. Trust me, any potential employer/school will appreciate that dedication. One thing that you will hear everywhere is that companies and schools don’t like gaps in resumes. For example, I had a year gap from undergraduate to grad school. I filled that gap with volunteering experience and a temporary job.

Tempory Job Helps Pay Bill

In addition to filling any gap in your resume, a temporary job provides you with the much-needed income. Most of my previous positions were grant-related, which meant that if the grant ran out and there was no additional money, I would be laid off. Since I did not have the experience, I took to position, for the paycheck and the much-needed experience. I had a vast amount of student loans, hence I could not afford to not have a job.

Hence, if you are laid off, it is a good idea to accept a temporary job so that you can get the paycheck to pay bills while giving you the cushion to apply for the more desired position. In addition, as mentioned above, it also fills the gap in your resume.

Changing Career

If you are changing your career to something very different from your current career, a temporary job position is fine. This is because it will be hard to get a more permanent position when you have no experience in that field. Hence, just like coming fresh out of school, if you are changing your career, the temporary job position will provide you with the much-needed experience and paycheck. Moreover, it will give you a cushion timeframe for applying for a more permanent position while filling the gap in your resume.

You Want a More Permanent Position With That Employer

If you are interested in a permanent position with the employer, taking a temporary job position will put your foot in the door of that employer. It is easier to find a position within the company than outside. Any employer will give the highest position to internal candidates than external ones. However, just keep in mind the consideration between you and external candidates with a lot more experience and credentials, that candidate will have a better chance of getting that job.

When Is It Not a Good Idea To Accept a Temporary Position?

Mid-Level Career

With over 15 years of experience in my current field, it is not a good idea for me to accept a temporary position. First, it is harder to get my desired mid-level position for my field. I will give you an example, if the past year, I have been passively applying for various positions. I have applied for over 100 positions and interviewed for over 30% of those positions. I received only 2-3 offers out of those, which I ended up not accepting. Hence, it will not be a good idea to accept a temporary position because it is more likely for me to be out of that job before finding another position. Additionally, finding a position with a mid-level salary is harder.

Employers Don’t Look at It Kindly

If I have a full-time permanent position and I accept a 6 months position, potential employers will not like that since it negatively depicts my work motivation. Additionally, employers don’t like people who change jobs frequently. It shows that you are not serious about your job. However, as mentioned above, if you are laid off for no fault of your own, accepting a temporary position shows that you are serious about your career and are responsible.

Benefits

If you accepting a temporary position it is likely that you will not be eligible for company benefit, where it’s insurance or 401K. If you are like me, you need to have medical benefits at all times. A temporary position will not provide that and will not meet my basic benefit needs.

Conclusion

In conclusion, whether to accept a temporary situation depends on your particular situation. I for one recommend that if you are going to take a term position, please choose one which is at least two years long. This way you will have more time to look for the right permanent position for you. However, if you have to pay bills and don’t have any option please take the six-month position.

My dear lovelies! Hope you find this post helpful. I would love to hear your feedback. If you have advice your opinion about temporary positions, please add it to the comment.

Today, 14 million children regularly miss meals — three times more than during the Great Recession and five times more than before the pandemic.

Many parents have lost their job during the pandemic. Sadly, that shows no sign of stopping. Your donation can bring relief to the millions worried about where their next meal will come from. It’s even worse for Latino and Black families, whose rates of nutrition insecurity have spiked to 25% and 30%. In the world’s wealthiest country, this is unconscionable.

Even before the pandemic, the U.S. Department of Agriculture estimated 37 million people in America struggled with hunger and nutrition. The Centers for Disease Control reports 76% of people killed by COVID-19 had at least one underlying condition, most of which were diet-related. Diet-related diseases also fuel skyrocketing health care costs, which rose from 5% to 28% of the federal budget in the past 50 years.

Let’s make the world better, kinder, brighter. Every dollar you give will create real change. $1 will feed 5 hungry children here in the US, but $1,000 will feed 50,000 starving children overseas. Be the good in the lives of many by giving right now.

Step By Step Acrylic Paint Challenge #3 | Dolphin Seascape Painting Tutorial | Art Therapy

Seascape Painting Tutorial

Hi there my beautiful lovelies! Hope you guys are doing well and staying safe. The past year has been nothing but stressful for me. Even meditation did not help with this level of stress. Hence I decided to focus on something I love. I have been painting and drawing for a while now. However, over the past several years, life got in the way.

Nevertheless, the recent stressor has compelled me to stop and take a look at what I am doing and can do to help with my stress. It is then that I decided to take up my sketch pencil and my paints. What I forgot with my busy life, how art has helped me to step back and look at my life and then directly address any issue. Whenever you are consumed in your art, there are times, when it’s very hard to see the big picture. It is then you need to take a break and come back with a new perspective. You will be able to see what you have done so far and where you want to go next.

My paintings have allowed me to take that break and come back with a new perspective about the stressor. That in turn has made it easier for me to find the next step towards mindfulness. My art has become my new mindful meditation. Today I want to share with you step by step tutorial of one such art and I hope you can find it as therapeutic and it has been for me.

My Top 20 Ultimate Motivational Quotes to Inspire Productivity

Motivational Quotes

Hi there my beautiful lovelies! Hope you guys are doing well and staying safe. Today I will share with you my top 20 motivational quotes that inspire me to get more done every day. Hope these inspiring quotes motivate you to get more things done every day. It is exactly what it does for me.

Motivational Quote One:

“You see, in life, lots of people know what to do, but few people actually do what they know. Knowing is not enough! You must take action.

– Tonny Robbins

Motivational Quotes

Looking at this quote always motivates me to do what do. Even if I feel tired I remind myself if I don’t take any action, things will not get done even if I know what do you. Living with ADHD doesn’t make things easy. Hence, I always have all these inspirational, motivational quotes on the wall so that I can take a look at them throughout the day.

Motivational Quote Two:

“Life is short. Do stuff that matters.”

– Siqi Chen

This is one quote I tell myself all the time. If we have learned from the current pandemic if life is short. It motivates me to do things that matter to me, i.e., spending time with my family, share and connect with others through my blog and YouTube channel.

Motivational Quote Three:

“It always seems impossible until it’s done”.

– Nelson Mandela

This is one of my favorite motivational quotes. My grandfather used to tell me that there is nothing impossible in life if we have the motivation to and in turn, actually take the first step to take the appropriate action.

Motivational Quote Four:

“Amateurs sit and wait for inspiration, the rest of us just get up and go to work”.

– Stephen King

Stephen King is one of my favorite writers with his description stories that awaken our vivid imagination. I love this quote because I know from my experience that waiting for inspiration does not take us to the finish like but working towards it does.

We landed on the moon, invented cures for the most life-threatening diseases because the great heroes got up and went to work on the cure. Even during this current pandemic, our healthcare, and frontline heroes did not wait for inspiration. Instead, they got up and went to work every day so that we could stay home.

Motivational Quote Five:

“The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.”

– Franklin Delano Roosevelt

This is another of my most favorite motivational quotes. Every time I used to get nervous about taking a step, I used to remind myself of the above words of FDR. I would keep going a small step at a time until the finish line.

Motivational Quote Six:

“He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life”.

– Muhammad Ali

I have seen the importance of the above words of Muhammad Ali in real life. I was stuck on my current job with a low salary because I didn’t want to take the risk to move forward. To me, it was not about money but I just did not want to take any risk if when opportunities arrived. As a result I staying in the same position without any movement and low wage. It took me further and further away from a public health career.

However, when I decided to take the risk, it allowed me to experience the other side of healthcare, meet different people, get exposed to racism at work, and then get the chance to work with some amazing scientists and researchers of this country. If I didn’t decide to finally take the step to explore further, I would not have grown as a person, a public health professional, and a stronger individual.

Motivational Quote Seven:

“Where there’s a will there’s a way”

– English Proverb

This has to be my favorite motivational quote. Since, I can remember whenever I was stuff on something, my grandfather used always say, “when there’s a will there’s a way”. These few words helped me through some very rough times in my life. I always reminded myself complacency is not an option if I want to make changes.

Motivational Quote Eight:

“Don’t allow our doubts of today limit our tomorrow.”

Franklin D. Roosevelt

This so true. I have seen it first hand. In order to nurture and awake your spiritual self, you first and foremost need to under that what you think will manifest on your outcome. For example, if you approach preparing for an example with the attitude, “I’m going to do bad on the exam”, that negative attitude with manifest on your preparation and the outcome. Hence, if you start something with the attitude that you will succeed, it will manifest in a successful outcome, because your positive attitude and motivation will lead to the result your are seeking. Hence, before starting anything just remind yourself the above words.

Motivational Quote Nine:

“Doing the best at this moment puts you in the best place for the next moment.”

-Oprah Winfrey

This is similar to FDR’s quote. As I have mentioned above, how you approach your actions will manifest in the outcome. If you do your best and have the positive attitude during your action, you will be in the best position for a successful outcome.

Motivational Quote Ten:

“I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he wo conquers that fear.”

– Nelson Mandela

The biggest evidence of the above words are seen during horrific pandemic. Healthcare workers and other frontline staff triumphed over their fear of catching the virus and/or giving it to their loved ones with COVID-19. It is their relentless bravery that have saved many lives, and allowed us to stay home. Similarly, it is the bravery of our service men and women that keep us safe at home.

Motivational Quote Eleven:

“How you climb a mountain is more important than reaching the top.”

– Yvon Chouinard

Your journey in life is more important than your destination. It is those moments that help us grow as a person, and learn. I would not change anything about my journeys, because it was during those times, good and bad, I have learned the important lessons of life and grow as a person.

Motivational Quote Twelve:

“There is no royal, flower-strewn path to success. And if there is, I have not found it. For if I have accomplished anything in life, it is because I have been willing to work hard.”

– C.J. Walker

The above motivational quote inspires me every day to work hard to achieve my goals. If we are motivated and work hard to achieve our goals we will be successful. It is up to us to create the path towards success. I have seen it happening each and every moment of my life.

Motivational Quote Thirteen:

“Nothing is particularly hard if you divide it into small jobs.”

– Henry Ford

This is a short much very inspiring motivational quote. Whenever I am stuck on a hard project, I remind myself to break it into small parts and handle one by one. Before I know it, I have finished the project with ease.

Motivational Quote Fourteen:

“All our dreams can come true – if we have the courage to pursue them,”

– Walt Disney

This is my favorite Walt Disney quote. Throughout history, from Gandhi to Martin Luther King, Jr to all the successful people in this world have got this done, not because they sat on the sideline, but because they decided to get and pursue their goals. They decided to take action.

Motivational Quote Fifteen:

“The hunger for change is the desire to make a change.”

– Laila Gifty Akita

In our current life, we all hungry for change. What are tired of seeing people dying due to a lack of leadership. We are tired of all the negativity and divisiveness. We are tired. However, in order to show our hunger for change we can to desire and work to make the change.

Marching is not enough, we need to take our frustration to the polling place where our voices will be heard loud and clear. Our votes are our voice, our weapon against absurdity. Remember that before deciding to sit at home and not vote for this election. Remember some states were won/lost by only about 10,000 votes. Do you want to be on the right or wrong side of history?

Motivational Quote Sixteen:

“To think is easy. To act is hard. But the hardest thing in the world is to act in accordance with your thinking.”

– Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe

There is a big difference between talking the talk and walking the walk. Those who are successful take the courage to act in accordance with their dreams. They act on their pursuit and they break their goals into small pieces and address one at a time until they have completed the who. They are courageous.

Motivational Quote Seventeen:

While one person hesitates because he feels inferior, the other is busy making mistakes and becoming superior.

– Henry Link

We cannot be complacent, we need to learn from our mistakes and take actions for our own betterment. I still remember my grandfather telling me “if you fail try and try again…this is how you will learn”. I cannot me afraid of making mistake. It is our mistake that makes us better.

Motivational Quote Eighteen:

“If spend too much time thinking about a thing, you will never get it done.

– Bruce Lee

The above words are so true. Every time, when I spend too much time dwelling to something, I never get it done. I just become exhausted and give up. As Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe mentioned, “To think is easy. To act is hard. But the hardest thing in the world is to act in accordance with your thinking.”

Motivational Quote Nineteen:

“You cant be that kid standing at the top of the waterslide, overthinking it. You have to go down the chute.”

– Tina Fey

As shown above, acting in accordance with our thinking is the hardest thing to do. As FDR said, “the only fear we should fear is fear itself.” Additionally. as seen this years and during the past four years. The marches, seen all over the years the past few years is hard. However, taking actions based on those beliefs is the hardest. We need to take the ultimate action, vote, to get our voice hard louder and anything else.

Motivational Quote Twenty:

“Only put off until tomorrow what you are willing to die having left undone.”

-Pablo Picasso

Motivational Quote

One thing we have learned this year, is life is short and transient. Over 223,000 Americans and over 1.1 million people worldwide died due to COVID-19. Hence, we always have to think that we may not be here tomorrow. We should not leave anything for tomorrow, and it is uncertain. When leaving a task for tomorrow, think if there will be regrets for not getting those think being undone. Just remember you have not have tomorrow.

I am free

I Am Free – The Story of My Personal Epiphany

Hi there my beautiful lovelies! Hope you guys are doing and staying safe. Today I want to talk about my transformation and how it has set me free. I am free.

Unload The Old And Embrace The New:

i am free

My dear lovelies! Before I dug deeper into the subject of my freedom, let’s go back a little further. You guys already know this story. Since childhood, I have been constantly dealing with anxiety, distraction, and more anxiety. Every decision I made, I second-guessed myself and if things go right, I would have a panic attack. I was sinking deeper and deeper into darkness, and ADHD did not help.

The First Step:

Sinking deeper into the dark world of paranoia, anxiety, and negativity is a big burden to deal with. I always felt palpitation and nausea and all other physical symptoms that became very overwhelming and suffocating. I started burying my agony but manifested into overwhelming physical pain. I ended up passing out and throwing up a lot. Of course, the scientific world, the medical world called it Gastroparesis and low blood pressure. I was drowning.

After a few years of medications and intense side effects, I stopped throwing up and gained weight. However, I kept feeling sick to my stomach. I could not breathe, I was drowning in my own pain. With that pain, I finished my undergraduate and graduate degrees and started my first full-time job. It was in that job, I found the light.

I was helping with a clinical study on the impact of guided meditation on stress and anxiety among help care professionals. My boss could sense my struggles and asked me to just participate in the study without being a study participant. So my journey began.

Acknowledge The Problem Without Being Consumed By It:

As I have mentioned in previous posts, it was during one of those study sessions, I found myself, or at least the beginning. When I realized how bound and overwhelmed I was, I started questioning myself and everything I stood for. For the first time in my life, I felt so lost. Even when I was a college freshman, I knew what I wanted and I had my life figured out. Boy was I wrong.

After doing guided imagery and meditation for a few weeks, I became lost. I fell like a tiny fish in a big ocean with fins cut off and unable to swim. It happened for a few years and then came the day when I felt completely alone for the first time in my life.

My dear lovelies! I lost my grandma, my guardian angel. With her death, I started questioning death and dying and my purpose. I felt remorse for not spending more time with her when she was alive. My grandma had such a strong belief in me. Of her 16 grandchildren, I was her favorite. With my grandma gone, I was depressed, frustrated. I was alone. It was during that time an opportunity arrived. I completed my second graduate degree, which kept me distracted for two years. After graduation, I got the chance to get certified through a 6 weeks course on mindful meditation. It was the first step towards my freedom.

Using the Right Brain:

The first thing I learned to use in mindfulness meditation is to learn to use the right brain often. I started pained again. With those right brain exercise, my mind started to open up to see beyond me and other selfish attitudes. My right brain started to open up my mind, until a couple of years ago, when I lost my aunt to lung cancer and my uncle a year later to pancreatic cancer.

Perhaps the most devastating event for me was the diagnosis of my RA related interstitial lung disease or RA-ILD, characterized by scarring of the lung. It regressed back and ended up in the Emergency Room several times for migraine and gastrointestinal issues.

Stairways to Freedom:

Even with my regular guided meditation, I felt lost. However, it all changed last year, when I saw the earth’s true beauty. I was in Hawaii. My dear lovelies! My trip to heaven felt like divine intervention. I was up every single day, watch the beautiful sunrise against the backdrops of the Diamondhead Crater.

It was the beginning of the end of my sleeping in. The beauty of mother nature made so mesmerized by its beauty. It then hit me, nature is so beautiful and we are all robbing it blindly with our pollutions, and carbon footprint. I realized that life is more than the McDonalized society we are living in, it’s more than the robotic emotionless world. Once I got to see the beautiful mountains and all the exotic flowers and lives, the more I appreciate its beauty. I evolved completely.

The Final Straw?

Every day of my stay in Hawaii felt like constant meditation. I was feeling lighter and freer. Until this year, when COVID-19 hit. The death of millions worldwide and over 218,000 here in the US brought the whole perspective of living in the current moment took a whole new meaning for me.

Hearing the story of so many people and the deterioration of my mom’s health due to lack of timely follow-up interventions, made me realized we cannot take life and our loved ones for granted. It was during that time, the principle of living in the moment got instilled in me. I have been freed.

My dear lovelies! The devastating pandemic made me so much more empathetic than I have been my entire life. I starting seeing my anger disappearing. I become more forgiving and happy. I am light as a feather and am ready to fly. For the first time, my life became more than my physical life. It became more about the spiritual one.

Now, I am no longer worried about things I cannot control. I started seeing people who used to make me angry and pieces of the big puzzle of life. For the first time, life has more than just me. When you see the biggest massacre of human life by an unrelenting pandemic, how can life be less than beyond just you?

I don’t know if I have awakened my spirit, but I have awakened my inner self. I no longer get trapped by my physical symptoms. It is very true. In fact, one physician told me last week that some people screams and cries in the ER, and then the various studies find nothing, then there are individuals, who look normal but the tests show a scary outcome. Which one is me?

You guessed it right, I am the later one. My doctors are more worried about me than I am. I just know things happen to you when you are ready for it. I am so much for fortunate than others. I have a job, I have my family, I am loving co-workers. I am grateful for every moment of my life and look at me with compassion. I am free.

My dear beautiful lovelies! Have you experienced self-epiphany moments in your lives? Please comment below.

I have not come to this point in my life easier. I am mindful and try to live my life intentionally. I live each and every day as if there is no tomorrow, as this pandemic has taught us more than anything, there may not be a tomorrow. More than ever, I am open to possibility. I know that I am a small fish in the big oceans, but instead of drowning, I am learning of my surroundings to ride the waves. I am morphing into someone who measures success by the difference I make in this world.
