Taking Your Ordinary Vase from Meh to Yeh

Hi there my lovelies! Hope you are doing well. Today, I want to talk about turning an ordinary base from meh to yeh. It does not cost you much.

I if you have ordinary vase you can really make with really interesting without spending much money. I had this white ordinary vase that I wanted to change into something exciting without spending much money. One way I did that did that is using temporary tattoos. I found this beautiful floral tattoo from Amazon. The tattoo only cost $6.99, but it took my ordinary white vase from meh to yeh.

You follow the instruction to apply the tattoo into the vase and when you want to change the tattoo to a different one just remove it with a nail polish remover. It is just simple.

Do you like this simple idea to glam up your ordinary vase? Please comment below. I would really love to hear your feedback.

Hope you enjoy this post and as much as I love writing it. Don’t forget to check out my Facebook Page and follow me on Instagram @allaboutme3181. Are you on Bloglovin? Let’s add each other. Please follow me and comment below with your information so that I can follow you back.

Remembering the Victims of 9/11

Hi there my lovelies! Hope you are doing well. Today I will take a short moment to honor victims those lives on 9/11. I know that everyone like clearly remembers what they were doing when the nation changed forever. I was an incoming freshman in college was about to enter my Biology lab class when my mom called me and told me that a plane hit one of the twin towers. I thought she was joking and I hung up on her. I did not realize how true her words were until about later. I remember, while in the lab we heard what we thought was a loud bang was actually plane hitting the Pentagon.

My dear friends! Being just blocks from the White House, I will not forget the chaos and not being able to reach my family. I was living in my hometown in Washington DC. I could see the flames from the Pentagon from my apartment rooftop. I couldn’t sleep for months and had nightmares. It was few years before I got the courage to get on a plane, and I still cannot look at the sky watching a plane flying low. The world we know has really changed since 9/11.

I cannot imagine the lives of the families who lost their lives that horrific day. Let’s take a time to remember to victims, the heroes who died that day.

Do you remember what you were doing on this devastating day 16 years ago? Please comment and let us know. I would really love to hear your comment.

Loss of a Loved One

Hi there my loveliness! Hope you are doing well. I know I have away from blogging for the past two months. This is because I watched one of my close family members lose her battle with cancer. My family member got diagnosed with last stage lung cancer that has metastasized all over her brain. She passed away within five months living two young adult children. I did not even have a chance to say proper good bye.

My dear friends, I have lost 4 family members to this disease. This loss reassured me that life is way too short. Don’t hold grudge against anyone. Live for today. If want to do something don’t set it aside for tomorrow or later. When you are at home, hug your loved ones a little tighter. Let them know how much you love them. Most of all, take care of yourself, your health.

Thank you for continuing to support my me while my family and I was dealing with tragic lose to cancer. I love you all.

Blogger Recognition Award

Hi there my lovelies! Happy Hump Day everyone! So I was nominated by my blogger friend, Sarah, over at lifewithlilred for the Blogger Recognition Award. I cannot tell you what an honor it is and I want to thank Sarah for the nomination! Sarah had a fabulous page so please make sure to check it out! Okay, let’s get to it:

The Rules:

  • Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
  • Write a post to show your award.
  • Give a brief story of how your blog started.
  • Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers.
  • Select 15 other bloggers you want to give this award to.
  • Comment on each blog and let them know you have nominated them and provide the link to the post you created.

How AllAboutMe Started:

About a couple of years ago I was obsessed with reading all these reviews about different products and style. I was recommending things to others. I always liked talking about my experience with others, then started my blog. With my fulltime healthcare job it was hard in the beginning. However, with my passion for both, I started to find time for both. I named it All About Me because it is about looking things relative to our lifestyle from my prospecting. Now, I have the love and support of so many wonderful readers and couldn’t be more thankful than that. ❤

My Advice:

  1. Create Connection: I know that I am the millionth person saying this but the key to the success of your blog is creating the connection. Your blog will not be successful in a week or month. It requires connections. Follow other people’s blog, comment. Create connection through Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest. The Social Media Networks will me key to followers. Use word of mouth to bring traffic to your site. My dad used to have a restaurant and I remember having to drop menus at places. Think of this something like that. You need to market yourself to bring traffic to your site. In the process,  you will make great friends. Going to other bloggers site I have come across some blog site and have learned so much reading some great post. Hence, not only to build connection but to build a wonderful friendship in the process.
  2. Work For It: You really have to give it your all it order for your blog to succeed. Trust me I have seen it happen. Due to some hardship, I could not give time to blogging for more than six months and my blog lost traffic. However, I have constant planning and working hard each and every day I have seen a big difference. If you put in the hard work. However, I am nowhere near where I want or even need to be in terms of followers. However, there is a quote I have followed since Junior High, which kept me going even through tough times, “And miles to go before I sleep, and miles to go before I sleep”. I am not doing this for money. I did not start this for money. One thing that I really liked what lifewithlilred said, if you are doing this only for money than I wouldn’t quite your day job.
  3. Be Yourself: This is the crucial part of any blog. There are hundreds of blogs out there. What makes your blog unique. DO NOT copy and paste from other. Let the other bloggers inspire you, but just BE YOURSELF. Let your unique self shine through your blog. Your readers your love your for your unique qualities. Don’t just be another number. Stand out in the crowd and your readers your love your for that.

My Nominees (I am only doing Seven!):

Once again, thank you to Sarah for the nomination for the Blogger Recognition Award and I can’t wait to continue to read your wonderful posts!  I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat!

With much love!

Thank You to the Perfect Strangers

Hi there my lovelies! Hope you are having a wonderful Sunday. Today, I want to take a moment to say thank you to those perfect strangers who came to my aid who after I passed out at the metro station with a severe migraine headache this past week.

Last Wednesday, I was at the metro station and was having a severe migraine headache. I was on my way to the ED after being told my Neurologist to go to the ED. I was on my way when my headache to a turn for the worst and I passed out from the severe pain. Thanks to some and wonderful strangers who helped my family member help me sit me down. Call for help. I was very fortunate to have a nurse and a resident among these strangers who sat until the paramedics arrived and one of the providers even offered to ride with me to the ED.

I could not have been more great more. Thank you from the bottom from my heart. I may not have been able to say it at the time because of my condition, but I cannot tell how much I really appreciate your kindness. I cannot tell you this enough. You have a busy life, you did not have to stop to help me but you did from the kindness of your heart. You are my hero. Thank you so much from my bottom of my heart! As long as we have kind people like you in this world, I know we will be okay. I see people rising up against injustice every single day and this, I myself have been a recipient of just kindness, and I will remember and appreciate it forever.

With much appreciation,

The March

Today was a critical day in our history. Today’s millions of people marched on the streets of Washington D.C, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, and even in London, and Italy to stand up for equal rights. With great sadness, due to a family emergency, I could not attend the march personally. However, my heart and soul believe in the movement. I fought it through my volunteer campaign work during the election and continuous support of the progressive movement. Additionally, I don’t hesitate to contact my representative at congress every week to remind them that they were elected to be our progressive voice and not to forget that.

My beautiful readers, today my friends and loved ones marched for what is right. Each of this wonderful people comes from different walks of life. Women, men, gay, straight, rich, poor, old, young, everyone gathered together to stand up for equal pay, equal rights, and equal opportunities. When I saw the images, I could not stop but cry. To be honest, after the election for while I lost hope. However, when we have so many people coming together in solidarity we cannot go wrong. I hope everyone had the honor and privilege of taking in the day moment by moment and captured it in their hearts and souls.

When I saw the eyes of the people walking together with one voice of solidarity I saw hope, a hope for the future. I know we will be all right. I took it all in. It was a beautiful day, beautiful time. I feel honored and privileged to share and time with so many wonderful people. I want to especially thank the wonderful group of people who organized these events. You guys rock! What this election have taught us is that we have a long way to go. As I have said before, do not give up. Keep fighting! At the end, that’s all matter. At the end, we will persevere.

My beautiful and wonderful readers! I am hopeful more than ever and as long we stand in solidarity and have images like this the world will be good for us and our children. However, just remember Robert Frost’s words, “And Miles to go before I sleep”.

I would love to hear your thoughts about what you went through today, and if you were privileged and honored to participate. Hope you enjoy this post and as much as I love writing it. Don’t forget to check out my Facebook Page and follow me on Instagram @allaboutme3181. Are you on Bloglovin? Let’s add each other. Do you have a New Year Resolution?

Happy New Year everyone. How you had a wonderful time ushering in 2017. How did you welcome the new year? This year I decided to take it easy and just be with my loved ones and watch the Times Square ball drop on TV. With the new year here, do you have a resolution that you want to keep this year?

I for one don’t believe in new year resolution because it puts a pressure on yourself to follow through and you are more likely to fail. Each January, roughly one in three Americans resolve to better themselves in some way. A much smaller percentage of people actually make good on those resolutions. While about 75% of people stick to their goals for at least a week, less than half (46%) are still on target six months later, a 2002 study found. I believe in having a purpose of the year.

Hence, if you really want to follow through on your goal Dr. Stephen Graef, a sports psychologist at Ohio State University, came up with an acronym – P.A.S.T. – plan, arrange your environment, stick to one thing and too easy to fail. Planning is creating to sticking to a goal. First, clarify what you want and what specific steps that you will take to plan to complete the task. Always write things down. Writing down plans are more likely to be followed through then those not written down. Second, make arrange your environment to make sure that you follow through. For example you plan to wake up early to go for a run or walk, then keep your phone on the other side of the bed so that you will have to get up to turn the alarm off. You can also go to bed in your walking/running cloth. Third, stick to one resolution at a time instead of too many. This will make sure that you are more likely to stick to your resolution. Having too many resolutions can often make them unattainable. Finally, make the solution too easy to fail. For example if your plan is to exercise, start with 1 minute and then slowly move up.

My lovelies! My goal for this year is quite simple. I want to life in the moment and see it through the lenses of a pedestrian. Last year has passed by too fast, with me looked into the world and life through the lenses of a helicopter pilot (macro perspective). This year, I want to take the time look into life and the world the lenses of a street walker looking at the detail beauty of life in the moment, because true beauty of life lives in the moment. I plan to do this by starting the day with deep breath. I have set alarm in my phone to take time to do deep breathing exercise for few minutes. I will start small and increase incrementally.

My beautiful and lovely readers, do you have a new year resolution that you really want to keep this year? If yes, what are some of your resolution. What are some of the plans you have in order to follow through your goals in the long run?

I hope you enjoy the post as much as I loved writing this. Don’t forget to check out my Facebook Page and follow me on Instagram @allaboutme3181.

Goodbye 2016

Hi There! Happy New Years Eve. Can’t believe that today is the last day of 2016. As looking forward to welcoming 2017 I am grateful for a good year though I do admit some of the events did not go as we may have planned. However, we cannot dwell on the past as it will hinder us from moving forward. Below are of the moment I am very proud of.

Dubai Trip: I ushered in 2016 in Dubai. Yes, my friend I ushered in the New Years from Dubai. However, since I was taking a break from blogging at the time I did not share my amazing experience with you. However, don’t be upset. I will provide detail about my trip tomorrow on New Year’s day. I really had a great time.

Completing Ten Years at My Work: I know it may not be much, but last year marked 10 years since I started working at the Children’s National Health System. I literally started my career working at Children’s when I just started graduate school and I cannot believe it has been 10 years. During the 10 years I have had the privilege of working with the most amazing people and met the most amazing families. My worked at Children’s helped me fight for childhood HIV/AIDS, congenital heart disease, newborn critical congenital heart disease screening, and mindful based meditation.

Voting Past November: Although, the outcome of this election has the most heartbreaking and depressing for me, but I could vote for the first time the first female major party nominee who won the popular vote by more than 2.6 million. This is the very first election cycle where I was actively involved in the pollical process and volunteered on behalf of my candidate. Again, though the outcome may not be what I wanted but I know I have done my very best and gave it my all for my candidate and for the love and tolerance I wanted my country to be in. Most of all, what all the protests post election have shown is that people are still here to fight together against any injustice.

Your Support: The one of the biggest thing I am happy about is the support that I have received for you, my wonderful readers after my almost a yearlong break that I had to take from blogging due to health and personal reason. When I returned to blogging past Halloween post, I receive respond. Thank you so much for your constant support and feedback. Reading your comments and sharing my thoughts with you and always lifted me up. Thank you! I will continue to bring my honest and true feedback and I always look forward to your comments and feedback. Please check out and like my Facebook, Instagram, and Bloglovin pages. I will try to like. If for some reason, I miss please message me.

Finally, beautiful and sweet friends, let’s take a moment of silence to remember all those who left us this year and take pride in reflecting back on all the amazing things that we have accomplished the year that has been 2016. Today I will finish with the following excerpts from author Neil Gaiman:

“I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes.

Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world.

You’re doing things you’ve never done before, and more importantly, you’re Doing Something. So that’s my wish for you, and all of us, and my wish for myself. Make New Mistakes. Make glorious, amazing mistakes.Make mistakes nobody’s ever made before. Don’t freeze, don’t stop, don’t worry that it isn’t good enough, or it isn’t perfect, whatever it is: art, or love, or work or family or life.

Whatever it is you’re scared of doing, Do it.

Make your mistakes, next year and forever.”
