SpaceX Launches Falcon Heavy – World’s Most Powerful Rocket

Hi there my lovelies! Hope you are doing well. Today was a great day for me because I was able to witness the launch of the most powerful rocket at SpaceX, a company founded and run by billionaire Elon Musk. The rocket,  named Falcon Heavy did not carry any people but carried Musk’s red Tesla. The rocket already signed up to carry three hefty telecommunications satellites into orbit. The Air Force also plans to use a Falcon Heavy to launch a payload for weather forecasting satellites, later this year. Per SpaceX, in early 2017 two space tourists put down a deposit to ride on a Falcon Heavy for a trip around the moon.

My lovely readers, it’s an exciting day for me because it’s a major step towards more cheaper and frequent flights, making it easier for government and private companies to send massive projects to space. SpaceX’s Falcon Heavy is estimated to cost $90m per launch; Nasa’s planned SLS rocket, a comparable system, is expected to cost about $1bn per flight. This launch reminded of the 2001 Mars Odyssey space mission to the Mars. Missions like today get a whole new generation of kids getting excited about space.

What did you think about the SpaceX mission? Please comment below. I really like to hear your feedback.
