My Poem About Being Lonely

I want to dedicated this poem feeling lonely. To those who feel lonely: You are not alone. Their is always help. Life may seem hard and out of control, but if we all work together there is nothing we can stop. Please don’t feel despair. The help is here, all you have to do is ask.

Lonely Woman

By Munziba Khan

She looks ahead and sees no end
To the vast horizon in front of her
Which is now her only friend.
She looks to the left and looks to the left
And sees the setting sun’s ray of which she’s bereft.
Loneliness is her other friend
That is how she feels
Drowned with cloud of sadness
It’s the company of someone that her heart appeals.
With deep ocean of despair, she feels numb
Lonely, lost, and frightened,
Describe what her life has become.
Her courage is going dim,
Her strength is melting.
Like the darkness of the winter grim,
There’s no word that may be helping.
It’s dark but she does not care
The lonely night is filled with so much sorrow
That her heart can’t bear.
The sea of emotions fills her eyes with tears.
It is the darkness, which is what she fears.
She starts walking down the hill,
Waiting for the night, so quite so still.

CAUSES CLOSE TO MY HEART

PLEASE DONATE DIRECTLY TO THE ORGANIZATIONS THROUGH MY FUNDRAISING LINKS:

I consider myself fortunate to have good health, a full-time job, and a roof over my head. However, there are still so many people who are struggling to put food on their tables. Please join me to help those who are struggling. If you have good health, full-time jobs, and a roof over your head, please join me to help those who are struggling. Whether you donate $5 or $500, you will make a huge difference in someone’s life.

No Kid Hungry:

America’s kids need us. The coronavirus is closing schools nationwide, and millions of vulnerable children are losing the school meals they depend on. For some, it’s the only food they’ll receive on a given day. We have a plan to feed kids, but we need your help today to continue our work to ensure every kid gets three meals a day. You can click above to donate to my gofundme page donation going directly to the organization, or you can click on the direct link to the site.

Food Bank of Maryland:

Help make sure all hungry Marylanders have reliable access to nutritious food when you join Sustainers Circle.

Manna Food Center:

PLEASE DONATION ANY AMOUNT YOU CAN AND SHARE THE POST WITH EVERYONE YOU KNOW.

Manna Food Center, a nonprofit organization, strives to eliminate hunger in Montgomery County through food distribution, education, and advocacy. Millions of children go to bed hungry in America every year, sadly it’s worse now! Today, 14 million children regularly miss meals — three times more than during the Great Recession and five times more than before the pandemic.

Many parents have lost their job during the pandemic. Sadly, that shows no sign of stopping. Your donation can bring relief to the millions worried about where their next meal will come from. It’s even worse for Latino and Black families, whose rates of nutrition insecurity have spiked to 25% and 30%. In the world’s wealthiest country, this is unconscionable.

Even before the pandemic, the U.S. Department of Agriculture estimated 37 million people in America struggled with hunger and nutrition. The Centers for Disease Control reports 76% of people killed by COVID-19 had at least one underlying condition, most of which were diet-related. Diet-related diseases also fuel skyrocketing health care costs, which rose from 5% to 28% of the federal budget in the past 50 years.

Let’s make the world better, kinder, brighter. Every dollar you give will create real change. $1 will feed 5 hungry children here in the US, but $1,000 will feed 50,000 starving children overseas. Be the good in the lives of many by giving right now.

Yoga Nidra – Deep Relaxation Meditation For Sleep

yoga nidra
yoga nidra

Hi there my beautiful lovelies! Hope you guys are doing well and staying safe. Today, I want to share with you Yoga Nidra, a deep relaxation meditation for sleep. Hope that the video will help you with fall into deep relaxation and drift you to sleep. Yoga nidra slows the wavelengths in your mind as you enter a sleep-like state. The experience often starts with sensing the body and mindfully breathing to trigger the relaxation response in your body. It trains your mind and body for this relaxation process so you can reach a deeper state of sleep.

In addition, yoga nidra allows you to drop into a sleep-like state with relaxed brainwave activity. Slow alpha waves, and even slower theta waves, produce deep relaxation and are the entry points to the subconscious. It is a practice that everyone, from children to seniors, can do. It’s easy to follow at any age. All that your body needs to do is lie down on the floor. And even if you can’t lie down on the floor, you can still do this practice seated.

The Struggle With Living Intentionally

I have been working hard to live intentionally in the past few years. According to the Good Trade blog site, “Intentional living means understanding your fundamental beliefs and values, and then actively living your life in line with those values.” Every time I am thrown off my course and I tumble and fall, I tell myself not to let my feelings rule the day, instead let my values take the shot. Life may not be just black and white; through intentional living, we can choose our values and beliefs, or we can let others control our lives. It should be easy to do that. Is it? Living intentionally is a lifelong practice and requires staying in touch is our values and beliefs.

I have been struggling mentally for years. I always felt that while the whole world was speeding ahead, I was left behind. No matter what I did, I could not shake that feeling of “something is not right”. I got trained in mindful meditation and living in the moment. Nevertheless, I could not get rid of that something wrong feeling. I was less stressed but not mentally free. I can still remember, before taking mindfulness-based meditation training, I participated in a clinical study as an observer.

living intentionally

I was told to close my eyes and let my hand draw whatever it wants, and in turn, activate my creative right brain. I was genuinely surprised when I saw a picture of me with my mouth taped shut while I was wearing a straitjacket. It was then I decided to act. I meditated every day, though exceedingly difficult at first, but with practice, I was able to handle my stress, and how I react to it. I felt free for the first time in my life, but I still could not get rid of the feeling of being left behind. It was not until I learned about intentional living that I felt in control of my life. I have learned that it was not about living minimally but deciding how I react to stressors and hardship. I did not trust my feelings but my beliefs. I started asking why before taking any steps.

evening

Mindful Evening

“Evening allows you to forget the bitter worries of your day and get ready for the sweet dreams of night”

– Anonymous

Evening:

evening

I come home, exhausted from the long day’s w. The toll the day has on me is indeed tiring. However, as Robert Frost said, “The woods are lovely, dark and deep. But I have promises to keep, and miles to go before I sleep”. I look at the richly colored peach sky of the evening, and thinking to myself “what a fine opera of the rich colors of dusk ablaze by with the fire of the setting sun, creating a great work of art in my curious soul. My face aglow with the orange rays of the setting sun “before twilight beckons the stars” as mentioned by Angela Abraham.

“I am here and I am grateful”, I tell myself as I prepare to spend quality time with my loved ones and retire for the day. Hence, I sit down and close my eyes. I take few deep breaths and catalog the events of the day. Yes, it is the time for me to communicate silently to myself. I take deep breaths to show my gratitude towards me for getting things done, and acknowledge things that could not be done, as tomorrow is a brand new day and full of new possibilities.

“I rest in the light of forgiveness. I forgive myself and others for that which is done (and better left undone) and also that which is not done (and better if done). I give myself permission to enjoy this moment without guilt. I freely release all uncertainty, regret, and fear.”

– Mary Anne Radmacher

I take few more deep breaths and open my eyes.

I sit with my family by my side, who too are tired from the long days of work. We talk about each other’s day and show gratitude for all the accomplishment and acknowledge things undone and move on, as life is short and if we dwell on the things undone, we can’t move forward. As Lin Yutang said, “Besides the noble art of getting things done, there is the noble art of leaving things undone. The wisdom of life consists in the elimination of non-essentials.” “The whole point of getting things done is knowing what to leave undone” said Oswald Chambers.

Evening is full of gratitude of things done, and time to reconnect with loved ones over dinner, and hope the new day full of possibilities that tomorrow will bring. After dinner I stroll through the path, taken by many, with open arms and a great spirit. The humans have settled down while the nature has just woken up. The chirping sounds of the crickets become louder at night as the moon glow through the dark clear clearing path for the twinkling stars. Oh the symphony of the fireflies dancing the spotlight of the moon and the sequined silver stars.  It is the darkness of the cold night that have paved the path of enlightenment through the glowing moon smiling through the diamond-like twinkling stars. Oh I gazed at the beauty of night and tell myself, “It’s time to hit the hay”, as the night is full of dreams and takes us deeper into our imagination and soul.

May your night is full of dreams chasing you into the sky with no limits. Good Night.

“I love the silent hour of night. For blissful dreams may then arise.”

– Anne Bronte

“The darker the night, the brighter the stars, the deeper the grief, the closer is God.”

– Fyodor Dostoyevsky

Love Yourself Unconditionally Through Self-Love

self-love
self-love

Hi there my beautiful lovelies! Hope you guys are doing well and staying safe. Today, we will be doing affirmations for boosting self-esteem and reaching a higher self.

Self-Love

These affirmations will help boost unconditional self-love and self-compassion with peace, relaxation, and calm. You can do this before sleep and peacefully drift off to sleep nicely. These affirmations for self-esteem, self-love, and relaxation meditation include affirmations to increase self-esteem and confidence and promote a general feeling of calm. Use this guided meditation to love yourself unconditionally.

Importance of Self-Love

Self-love means accepting yourself as you are in this very moment for everything that you are. It means accepting your emotions for what they are and putting your physical, emotional and mental well-being first.

Why Self-Love?

So now we know that self-love motivates you to make healthy choices in life. When you hold yourself in high esteem, you’re more likely to choose things that nurture your well-being and serve you well. These things may be in the form of eating healthy, exercising, or having healthy relationships.

Mindful Afternoon – No More Midday Slump

Good Afternoon,

“When we are mindful, deeply in touch with the present moment, our understanding of what is going on deepens, and we begin to be filled with acceptance, joy, peace and love.”

— Thich Nhat Hanh

After a busy morning, I settle on my desk, people lazy and drowsy this afternoon. The tryptophan and serotonin from my lunch is competing forcing me to doze of. My eyes are telling me to let go and give in to the demands of the neurotransmitter. My brain is clouded by a thick fog. I can’t see I can’t focus through the haziness of the thick fog. My body is craving for a mid-day pick me up to clear the haze. I take a few deep breaths with with my eyes closed. Now, I am ready.

afternoon

The blazing midday sun shining brightly on my face. I look out the window of see the shimmering in the heat of the midday sun. The sunlit buildings across me, are piercing the clear blue sky and inviting me to join them in bathing in the warm light of the sun. The small pecks of dust mites are dancing in the warm sunlight, slanting through the window. The harmony of the scorching sunlight and the specks are dancing together like shimmering diamonds, and asking for my attention. I look out to watch the fluffy white clouds drift lazily in the gentle breeze.

I join the party with long deep breath followed by short spurts of exhalation. Now, we have a harmonious symphony of rhythm. I have a deep breath and lift my heals. Now my mind choice the rhythmic symphony as I rock up and down for 5 breaths. With these steps I invite my body to join the chorus. My spine moves side-to-side. What an invigorating experience!!!

I take a deep breath and reach my arm to a “T” position. With my inhalation I reach my right arm overhead and sway to the left. I take another breath and bring back my arms back to the “T”. Exhale and sway to right. I continue the rhythmic dance for 5 breaths. I finally end the dance number with a side twist. My body is relax my mind is relaxed and I am energized.

I now close my eyes and let my senses take over. I take few deep breaths with my feet on the ground. I hear the quietness of my surrounding and the sensations of my body. I focus on the bright sun warming my body, my heart beating as the drum beats to the symphony of the sparking specks and the shimmering sunlight. Now my sense of smell, sound, and touch is leading the orchestra. I surrender myself to the senses as I take long breaths.

I am now grounded and energized. Our breaths are always happening in the present moment, always in our bodies. They can act as anchors that can bring us back from our thinking about the past or the future.

I tell myself, “I am here now, I am here”. I get up and take a short 5-minutes walk to continue the practice of being grounded. I am ready to listen, to the blazing midday sun shimmering in the bright blue sky, and sparkling in the horizon. I am taking in the strong golden glow of the sun over the buildings and roads, captivated by the beauty and radiance.

My mind is clear, my body is energized by the afternoon sun, ready to shine and complete the essentials tasks a head. I am read. It’s great time to start with gratefulness, positive thoughts and planning to make it right. Good Afternoon!!!

A Mindful Morning

Good Morning from Oahu, HI

Morning

morning

“The morning is good because we remember that no matter what went wrong the previous days, we just got a perfect opportunity to rewrite history and do better.”– Anonymous

Full many a glorious morning have I seen

Flatter the mountain tops with sovereign eye,

Kissing with golden face the meadows green,

Gilding pale streams with heavenly alchemy

– Sonnet 33 by William Shakespeake

The beautiful chirping of the birds singing harmoniously for usher in a new day, creating melodies letting us know that it’s a new beginning. How you start your day, start your morning, will have a major impact on how the rest of your day will go. With the beginning of dawn, come the golden sun, kissing the horizon with its smiling, warmth, and letting the world know that it’s time to let go of the misery and failure of yesterday as the memory of the past, the history, and start a new beginning with glimmer of hope and new dreams kissing your face with love.

Morning, marks the end of the shadow of darkness of yesterday and beginning of the new day, when the glistening sun spreads it glow to cover the darkness of the night and peeps through the windows, and through curtains to awaken us as we lie in bed, so dazzling, so beautiful that it arouses a sense of new beginning in us. Whichever way to decide to start your day, just remember, it’s a new beginning, a fresh start. Don’t dwell on the darkness of yesterday as “yesterday is history, tomorrow is mystery, and today is a gift, that’s why it’s called a present”.

Enjoying a beautiful dawn and a morning cup of Joe in Oahu, HI

As the CTO of Twitpic, Steve Corona, said, “If you study successful people, one thing that you’ll notice really quickly is that they share a bunch of similar habits — and the daily ritual is one of them…And being busy isn’t an excuse. In fact, the busier that you get, the more you need it”. So make it your morning ritual with the sense of new beginning. Start your day with pause. Whether enjoying a morning cup of Joe or catching up on the headlines, take your time to pause. Take a deep breath. Be mindful. Be intentional.

Start the morning, with a few moments of quiet time to yourself instead of rushing out the door. As mentioned by psychologist Nicole Martinez, Psy.D. , LCPC “One of the best ways to start a morning routine is to start out slowly with one where you add little windows of time, and small tasks.” Take this time to take a deep breath and let the pearly golden ray of the sun tenderly kiss your face and spread its warmth like a blanket, so surreal. Bask yourself in the glow of the morning sun, a gentle supernova, just silent and light.

If you like going for a walk and/or run in the morning, let the morning feel your heart and slow as you walk and/or run. Let the music in your ear ground you, and take in the brisk air, and the shining sun playing hid and seek behinds, trees, and building. During this time, be ready to listen, to the mischievous sun, or the chirping birds calling on your take in your surroundings, let the glittering sun shimmering in the morning sky, and sparkling in the horizon. Taken the soft glow of the morning dew, the golden glow of the sun over the flower beds, captivated by the beauty and radiance.

Start your day with gratitude towards yourselves and other. Remember, we are just mare audience of the beautiful world and it is up to us to spread that beauty through our works and attitude. Start your day with gratitude for being able to enjoy the dewy morning. Remember, the morning dew, the flowers, the beautiful sky, don’t fight for the shimmer and glow of the golden sun. They do not seek anyone’s approval or judgement for their beautiful colors. As Shakespeare said in Romeo and Juliet, “That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet”. A rose does not seek the approval or judgement by any human to spread its sweet fragrance. It will continue to spread its beauty, its healing properties and radiant glow, even when there is no human there to appreciate it.

The world is constantly speaking, God is constantly speaking to us through what we see, and we just have to take the time to listen with our eyes. As you start the morning, listen and observe your surroundings. It up to us to decide what we absorb. I chose to listen what is being said each morning, with my senses and my soul and start each day with a sense of new beginning, full of home and radiance. I want to start each day with a sense of gratitude, basking the glow and warmth of the beautiful sun, listening to the harmonious call of the singing birds mischievously playing with their melodies, absorbing the sweet fragrance spread by the glowing flowers, breathing in the crisp fresh air saturated with prayers and dreams. This is what life is all about. I chose gratitude. I chose to appreciate what’s around me like I am the only person in the world. I chose new morning. Good Morning.

Beautiful morning in Oahu, HI

The Current Crisis in America

The American Crisis:

Hi there my beautiful lovelies! Hope you guys are doing well and staying safe. Today, I want to dedicate this post to the millions of Americans who are struggling with no fault of their own. In the past 200 days, hundreds and thousands of small businesses have closed their doors forever.

Economic Crisis:

In addition, millions of Americans are struggling to put food on their table or pay their bills. There are cries for help on all fronts. Every time I turn on the news, I see the stories about the families struggling to survive. According to Maslov’s hierarchy of needs, the most basic needs that should be met before anything else is that of the physiological needs, such as food, water, warmth, and rest. Nonetheless, so many Americans are now struggling to meet that basic need.

Food banks are overwhelmed with long lines of desperate Americans. When I close my eyes, I still can hear the cries for help, of restaurant owners and struggling families. I wonder angrily if Washington can hear those cries. Washington has become so partisan that they refuse to hear the desperation of millions.

I for one, am tired of all the childish bickering of Washington. I know what these families are going through since I myself have gone through times when meeting the basic needs was a struggle. My dad’s restaurant went under due to the lack of help he received after the last recession. The stress of those days when my dad didn’t know how to pay rent for his restaurant. I get it. For years, I have seen my dad come home empty-handed because his goal was to make sure that his employees got paid first.

My dear lovelies! Like the COVID-19 pandemic, these that so many Americans are facing is real. So many have lost their jobs or have been furloughed that they are in fear of eviction on top of everything. Washington may have forgotten these desperate small businesses and struggling families, let us not do the same. If you are fortunate enough to put food on your table, pay your bills, and have a roof over your head, please help out those who are struggling. If we all pitch in, we can make a difference in their lives.

My dear lovelies! Please join me in helping out struggling families. You can do your part by ordering food from local restaurants, donating to your local food banks, or helping out organizations that help pay rent for those who need it the most. During the early part of the pandemic, I helped raise money for the United Ways, to help pay rent to those affected by the pandemic.

Currently, I have started a fundraiser on behalf of the Food Bank of Maryland. If you would like to make any donation please click here and make your tax-deductible donation. Whether you donate $5 or $500 any amount you contribute will make a huge difference in someone’s life. As Ann Frank famously said, “No one has ever become poor by giving”. My dear beautiful lovelies! I leave you with these great quotes about giving back. May we all stay safe, and have access to food, water, warmth, and rest.

“It’s not how much we give but how much love we put into giving.”

– Mother Theresa

“There is no exercises better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up.”

– John Holmes

“When we give cheerfully and accept gratefully, everyone is blessed.”

– Maya Angelo

The Devastating Pandemic Situation: No Room for Pandemic Fatigue

I high there my beautiful lovelies! Hope you guys are doing well and staying safe. With the pandemic brewing high, it is not even close to normal and in fact, things are getting worse and devastating. Today I will again emphasize the importance of the mitigation factor in curving the coronavirus pandemic.

Current Epidemiologic Data on Coronavirus Pandemic:

Infection and Mortality Rate:

Currently, in the United States, more than 11 million people are infected with the coronavirus and over 246,000 individuals have succumbed to the virus (John Hopkins University). Globally, over 54 million people are infected and over 1.3 million have died. Again the US has 4% of the world’s population and more than 20% of the world’s infection number. On Friday, the US reported 184,514 Covid-19 cases in its worst day of the pandemic, according to figures from Johns Hopkins University. This is the highest number of cases reported in a single day in the country since the pandemic began, and continues a four-day streak of record-breaking totals.

The United States of America is the richest, most advanced nation in the world with the highest number of infections and death due to coronavirus. This is my friend, is not something we should proud of. We are supposed to be the beacon of hope for the rest of the world. The ways we handled this pandemic does not do that.

Positivity Rate:

Things that we need to take seriously is the positivity rate, or how many test position among the total number of tested. This is critical because it shows us that current stage of infection rate. The highest rate of positivity rate is in South Dakota with a positivity rate of 58.8%, following by 58.7% in Kansas, 52.6% in Iowa and 43.4% in Wyoming. My hometown of Washington D.C., has one of the lowest positivity rate (2.8%). Click here to see the positivity rate for all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

Hospital Admission Rate:

In addition to the rise in new covid cases we are also seeing a record high rate of hospitalizations, according to CNN. Covid-19 hospitalizations set a new record across the US: The United States has more people hospitalized with Covid-19 than ever before, according to the Covid Tracking Project (CTP). There were 68,516 current hospitalizations reported on Friday across the entire US, according to CTP. The seven-day average for current hospitalizations is now 62,123, which is up 20.01% from last week.

Hospital Capacity:

Furthermore, according to NPR, hospitals are nearing capacity in North and South Dakota, two states where coronavirus has hit disproportionately hard for their small population size and where cases continue to rise daily. The largely rural state of N.D. had seen only mild outbreaks in the spring and summer when other parts of the country were hard hit. As of Thursday the state was seeing an average of 1,334 new cases per day, after seeing no more than 400 a day in the summer.

The current hospitalization is so bad that if the current trend continues, pretty soon hospitals will have to ration care. My dear friends, that is not good. Another issue is are seeing now is that those with pre-existing illness, such as cancer, and other chronic conditions are waiting to get care, which leads to hospitalization when they are too sick. I have experienced that first hand with my mom, whose treatment was delayed far enough causing her to be hospitalized for a week.

Toll on the Frontline Healthcare Workers:

With the devastating surges in new cases and hospitalization, the coronavirus pandemic is having a detrimental effect on the frontline healthcare staff. In addition to increased exposure risk, they are dealing with the devastating mental health effect of the coronavirus pandemic. According to a study published in the British Medical Journal (BMJ) last month, healthcare workers have experienced significant physical and psychological risk while working during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Another article published in Current Psychiatry Report, reviewed 44 articles looked at the impact of endemic, pandemic on healthcare workers. The researcher found that between 11 and 73.4% healthcare workers, mainly including physicians, nurses, and auxiliary staff, reported post-traumatic stress symptoms during outbreaks, with symptoms lasting after 1-3 years in 10-40%. the symptoms included, depression, insomnia, and severe anxiety symptoms. Talking to my healthcare provider friends made me realize the devastating impact of the pandemic. These heroes are tired, burned out and having to deal with the psychological trauma along with the increased exposure risk.

COVID-19 Impact on Education:

The school lockdowns that started in the spring of 2020 reduced instructional and learning time, which are known to impede student performance, with disparate impacts on different groups of students. This is particularly impeding among low income population who may not have access to a computer with internet. Students from privileged backgrounds, supported by their parents and eager and able to learn, could find their way past closed school doors to alternative learning opportunities. Those from disadvantaged backgrounds often remained shut out when their schools shut down.

The coronavirus crisis has exposed the many inadequacies and inequities in our education systems – from access to the broadband and computers needed for online education, and the supportive environments needed to focus on learning, up to the misalignment between resources and needs.

Economic and Financial Impact of the Coronavirus Pandemic:

Finally, the economic impact of COVID-19 is even more dire. When the Federal government and the Federal Reserve injected a massive amount of stimulus into the economy thru the C.A.R.E. Act, there was a question of efficiency. However, we can now say that the initial stimulus was highly effective in avoiding a more catastrophic economic result. According to the Forbes magazine, prior to the pandemic, the U.S. economy was doing very well. Unemployment was at a 50-year low and inflation was also below the Fed’s target of 2.0%. However, because we closed a significant portion of the U.S. economy, ‘real’ GDP growth (i.e. the % increase/decrease in economic growth compared to one year prior, ‘net’ of inflation), fell during the second quarter by an astounding 31.40%. These are numbers not seen since the Great Depression.

Unemployment spiked to its highest rate in the post WWII era, hitting 14.7% earlier this year. Although the rate has fallen for five consecutive months, it is still well above its February reading of 3.5%. In the meantime, those furloughed from the leisure & hospitality and airline industries are left wondering if help will come. Many don’t know if they will be evicted from their homes for not paying rent/mortgage. They are worried about not being able to put food on the table. This is evident with the increased lines at food banks. Besides, many companies have closed forever, leaving its employees to find other job opportunities. With more workers seeking fewer jobs, it could create a labor market which favors the employer and lead to slow wage growth.

When it comes to the financial market, according to Forbes, U.S. stocks peaked February 12, held steady until February 19, then fell over 37%, bottoming March 23. From there, stocks rose substantially until they peaked again September 2. It’s important to point out that stocks (i.e. the entire U.S. market) were more than 58% overvalued at the February peak. By September 2, stocks were a whopping 87.5% overvalued, the highest number ever, surpassing even the Tech Bubble in March 2000 when stocks were 49% overvalued. In addition, the market seems to have taken the election of Biden-Harris favorable.

According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), there’s a real financial disconnect between the stock market and the economy, and while the disconnect could narrow if a swift and sustainable economic recovery materializes, the opposite could happen if the economic recovery is delayed due to it taking longer to get COVID-19 under control. The IMF further mentioned, “As long as investors believe that markets will continue to benefit from policy support, asset valuations may stay elevated for some time. Nonetheless, and especially if the economic recovery is delayed, there is a risk of a sharp adjustment in asset prices or periodic bouts of volatility,”

The Power Within All of Us.

My dear lovelies! We have seen that detrimental impact of the coronavirus pandemic on mortality, health, wealth, education and the economy. However, if we all work together we can not only save lives, and protect, children’s education, the overburdened healthcare and the volatile economy. If we all work together, wear mask, social distance and avoid social gathering and support each other, we will finally be able to curve the sharp rise. The winter will be long and relentless but we can curve the pandemic only if we all work together.

My dear lovelies, I want to remind you again of Dr. Seuss’s Horton Hears a Who, where in order to save Whoville, Horton asks the people of Whoville to make as much noise as they can, to prove their existence. So almost everyone in Whoville shouts, sings, and plays instruments, but still, no one but Horton can hear them. So the Mayor searches Whoville until he finds a very small shirker named JoJo, carries him to the top of Eiffelberg Tower, where JoJo shouts out a loud “Yopp!”, which finally makes the kangaroo and the monkeys hear the Whos, and are convinced of the Whos’ existence. Each one of us need to do our part to finally break the barrier and curve this virus.

I just want to remind you that “A person is a person, no matter how small”. Remember, the noise of small JoJo made the ultimate difference and broke through the barriers. Before you decide to be noncompliant, remember your little sacrifice may be the noise of JoJo that will make the ultimate difference.

I leave the decision up to you. Just remember, if you don’t follow the guidelines, no one will listen. I will again, end these famous words of President John F Kennedy, “Ask not what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do you for your country.” Wearing, social distancing, and avoiding social gathering, that’s what you can do for your country. I am doing my part. Will you?
