Living Mindfully Through Gardening

Hi there my beautiful lovelies! Hope you guys are doing well and staying safe. Today, I want to take the time to talk about living mindfully through gardening.

What does it mean to live mindfully? It is about living with awareness in the present moment. The mindful living meaning involves taking care of your actions, words, and feelings to ensure that you live a good and present life. It’s about not letting life pass you by while living in reactions and in your head. Anything that helps you declutter your mind and bring it to the present moment will help you withe mindful living. I am no expert on mindful living and I will not pretend to me one. However, what my training and research has showed me is that you don’t have to be perfect to live mindfully. It takes years of practice to achieve complete mindfulness. However, what I as a regular Joe have learned to do, is to take each of the small victories of mindful awareness as success. I try to do things that helps me become more aware of the present moment and avoid those that creates a barrier. Additionally, gardening is known to reduce stress, anxiety and depression.

Living Mindfully Through Gardening

My dear lovelies! I am no gardening expert, nor do I garden. However, I have seen my dad get completely taken by the moments when he gardens. He is completely engulfed by his surroundings and no distracted by the world when he gardens. As seasoned gardeners already know — and those new to gardening are just discovering — there’s something incredibly healing and hopeful about planting seeds and watching them grow. If the garden is a place that offers a sense of peace and pleasure, adding elements of mindfulness to this naturally meditative hobby may make the activity even more impactful on our well-being.

Mindfulness in Enjoying a Garden

Nonetheless, what I have learned as an observer is that garden is equally rewarding for the observer. Just being in my garden is incredibly healing and it provides an immense feeling of peace and tranquility. I cannot tell you how much being in my garden has helped me ground to the present moment. It helps me connect to nature and not get distracted by the outside noise.

My Garden: Living Mindfully Through Gardening

Now, every morning, I spend couple of minutes outside in my garden, just taking a deep breath, and take a moment to connect to the earth and its beautify and express my gratitude for being there in the moment. Besides, scientists have discovered that the mycobacterium found in soil can improve brain functions while boosting moods. The mycobacterium vaccae found in the soil increases serotonin produced in the brain (also known as the “happy” chemical). By getting your hands dirty, you’re also making your brain happy! Hence, why not enjoy such vast beautify to boost my mood and ground myself?

My dear beautiful lovelies! Whether you garden or just love enjoying a beautiful garden take the time to connect to the tranquility of a garden and boost your mood and become aware of your present moment. Hope you enjoyed this post. Please let me know about your experience with comment below. What else help you anchor to the present moment?

Amazon Prime Day 2022 Date

Hi there my beautiful lovelies! Hope you guys are doing well and staying safe. Today, I want to take the time to talk about the upcoming amazon prime Day 2022 Date and how you should mindful for your shopping.

Amazon Prime Day 2022 Date

Amazon Prime Day is an annual two-day shopping event for Amazon Prime members. Each year the sale is met with doorbuster deals on some of our favorite products—think huge savings on headphones, robot vacuums, air fryers and so much more. The exclusive 48-hour sale is available to both new and existing Prime members. With the rising inflation and incredibly high gas price, we are all look for ways to save money. All signs point to Amazon Prime Day 2022 being the biggest shopping event of the summer. The two-day sale is expected to see some of the biggest price cuts of the year on tons of reviewed-approved products. Hence, if you are like me you are probably looking forward to the deals. However, you should mindful shopping habits in mind. That being said, when is prime day? Amazon Prime Day 2022 will be held in July—however, exact dates have yet to be confirmed.

Last year, the two-day event was held from June 21-22, 2021. It was largely back to normal in terms of supply and deal variety, with Amazon offering over 2 million deals in 20 countries including Germany, Mexico, Spain, and the United Arab Emirates. Amazon looks ready to top that again this July. Just click here to find out how to get notification to let you know when the deal start.

Mindful Shopping

I am particularly guilty of being caught in the frenzy of marked down items and annual sales. We purchase things we don’t need, items that are neither our need or practical. Why? Because they are on sale.

A smart and mindful shopper will carve out an afternoon just for shopping and will not settle for anything less than exactly what they are looking for. Mindful shopping is a practice of mindful living. Taking the time to actually choose shop, will actually help you save money and, in turn help you minimize clutter since you will only buy what you need. So what am I look for? As part of mindful shopping, I am actually sitting down and writing down the essential things that I need. Additionally, I am also keeping in mind upcoming holiday season, loved ones birthdays, wedding to do some research and shop a head for those. That is not mindless shopping. So what are some of the sales you can forward? A lot of essential items and gifts (for upcoming occasions and holidays). However, you can still get some great deals now on some of the following items. Remember, I am just giving you the scoop in case you need these items. You buys just because of a sale. But, if you have to buy it (for your or loved ones) then why not enjoy the sales.

Amazon Prime What Are Some of The Best Deals Available Now?

Samsung Galaxy S22 series ($700): If need a new phone, then you can get $100 off S22, $200 off S22+ and S22 Ultra, and free storage upgrade. If your current phone is not trade worthy, Amazon is taking at least $100 off the original price of each model of the S22, and you can snag the larger 256GB models for the same price at 128GB. If you are in the market for Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 ($850) then the already discounted ($150 off) and might see even deeper discounts as we get closer to the unveiling of its successor, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4. The Flip4 doesn’t appear to have any jaw-dropping upgrades, so save money with the current model and join the fold able club. Fitbit Charge 5 ($128.95) – If you like fitness tracker like me, then you will love the $25 off on the Fitbit Charge 5. With a week-long battery life, color display, and Fitbit’s tried-and-true tracking prowess, the Charge 5 more than earns its title as the best premium fitness tracker on the market today.

Other deals include Amazon Fire HD 8 Table 32 GB for $49.99 (save $40), OXO Brew 8 Cup Stainless Steel Coffee Maker for $139.99 (save $59.96); Hestan – ProBond Collection – Professional Clad Stainless Steel 4-Piece Starter Cookware Set for $127.96 (save $34.50); REVLON One-Step Volumizer PLUS 2.0 Hair Dryer and Hot Air Brush for $53.95 (Save $16.34); 2021 Apple iPad Mini (Wi-Fi, 256GB) for $549 (save $100)

What Can You Expect To Be On Deal on Prime Day?

Almost everything on Amazon gets some kind of discount or Lightning deal around Prime Day. Smartphones and smartphone accessories of every flavor will be discounted, as will smart TVs, tablets, computer accessories, and, of course, computers themselves. In previous years, Prime Day has been the perfect time to grab a good Chromebook as Amazon targets parents who need something for their children to do homework before school starts.

Additionally, fitness tracker (such as Fitbit) and smartwatch deals are fast and frequent. With the Samsung Galaxy Watch5 expected to arrive in late August or September, the Galaxy Watch 4 will likely reach its lowest prices ever on Prime Day; the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Flip3 will be in the same position. The Pixel 6 also launches at the end of July, so Prime Day may be the last chance to grab the Pixel 5a on sale. That puts three of the best Android phones on the market at likely their lowest prices to date. Last year, I needed Amazon echo products and Ring smart home security camera and found amazon deals on those. In fact, I ended up getting the echo free with my Ring product. If you are into Arlo, Eufy, or Blink, there should be deals for you as well. What ever you are into don’t forget to check out the Prime Day page on Amazon and bookmark it.

My dear beautiful lovelies! Whether you are trying to save for gift or just love saving money, the Amazon Prime Day is a prime place to shop and get amazing deals. Hope you enjoyed this post. Enjoying The Moment

Hi there my beautiful lovelies! Hope you guys are doing well and staying safe. Today, I want to take the time to talk about taking living in the moment. I will talk about enjoying the moment.

Life in Auto-pilot

people walking near busy street beside different vehicles on road surrounded with high rise buildings
Photo by Valeriia Miller on Pexels.com

We live our life in auto-pilot. I am guilty as well. Always so busy, with no time for anything. My auto-pilot life include breakfast, work, shopping, eating, and sleeping with little time to breath. However, what the past few days and even the past two years have taught us is that life is too short. Before you can blink it can end. I have been thinking about that a lot. When my uncle passed away on Valentine’s day this year, I couldn’t stop but think about the last time I spoke to him. I still read the text I sent him just less than two months before. However, what gets me the most is that due to auto-pilot life I have not spoken to him for a month before his death.

Trust me, I do try to live intentionally and practice living in the moment, but life do get in the way often, and before I knew it, even if I want to, I cannot talk to my uncle anymore. I think of those times with him and his loving advises. Yes, I do have small regrets about not calling him sooner and giving my gratitude. We all have those mistakes, if after the two years of uncertainty, I have succumbed to the auto-pilot life. Now, we all have seen the horrific massacre of innocent children in Uvalde. I can’t stop crying and feeling the intense pain.

Living in the Moment

My dear lovelies! We tend to take life for granted. We always think we are too busy to stop and take a deep breath, hug our loved ones, express our gratitude towards and ourselves and our loved ones. What that does at the end is life full of small regrets, and what ifs. Living in the moment take lots of practice and dedication but the reward is amazing. According to the National Association for Continence Health Blog, studies show that people who focus on seeking pleasure in the moment are happier than those who are focused on the past. And those that take the time to notice more of the small things and enjoy the simple pleasures of life are happier and often more productive.

silhouette of person raising its hand

Nonetheless, I couldn’t have practiced living in the moment without first acknowledging the past. What each of my experience and surrounding has taught me. It’s impossible to just live in the moment. In order to appreciate the present, we need to acknowledge the past and learn to let go. Our experience makes us who we are. Whether the recent events in the world (pandemic, war, shootings) or my life (family illness, and deaths) I can’t learn to appreciate the present moment, without acknowledging the past and learning to let go. Yes, I have lost my uncle, and even loved ones in the pandemic, and seen the chaos that is happening around me, but what that does is that it allows me to appreciate what I have.

Now, every morning, I spend couple of minutes outside, just taking a deep breath, and enjoy my garden or just the fresh air, and take a moment to acknowledge the past and focus on express towards the current moment. I am grateful to for my life, my loved ones. I take the time every weeks to talk with my loved ones and share some good moments. If the encounter is not pleasant, I acknowledge it and let go as life is indeed too short to hold on to negativity.

My dear beautiful lovelies! Don’t dwell on the past or regrets. Acknowledge their presents and let go, and take a deep breath and express gratitude for the present. Take the time to express gratitude towards yourselves, and your loved ones. Hug your loved ones a little tighter. Just remember, life is too short and there might not be a tomorrow.

My lovelies! Hope you enjoyed this post. Please let me know about your experience with comment below.

The Struggle With Living Intentionally

I have been working hard to live intentionally in the past few years. According to the Good Trade blog site, “Intentional living means understanding your fundamental beliefs and values, and then actively living your life in line with those values.” Every time I am thrown off my course and I tumble and fall, I tell myself not to let my feelings rule the day, instead let my values take the shot. Life may not be just black and white; through intentional living, we can choose our values and beliefs, or we can let others control our lives. It should be easy to do that. Is it? Living intentionally is a lifelong practice and requires staying in touch is our values and beliefs.

I have been struggling mentally for years. I always felt that while the whole world was speeding ahead, I was left behind. No matter what I did, I could not shake that feeling of “something is not right”. I got trained in mindful meditation and living in the moment. Nevertheless, I could not get rid of that something wrong feeling. I was less stressed but not mentally free. I can still remember, before taking mindfulness-based meditation training, I participated in a clinical study as an observer.

living intentionally

I was told to close my eyes and let my hand draw whatever it wants, and in turn, activate my creative right brain. I was genuinely surprised when I saw a picture of me with my mouth taped shut while I was wearing a straitjacket. It was then I decided to act. I meditated every day, though exceedingly difficult at first, but with practice, I was able to handle my stress, and how I react to it. I felt free for the first time in my life, but I still could not get rid of the feeling of being left behind. It was not until I learned about intentional living that I felt in control of my life. I have learned that it was not about living minimally but deciding how I react to stressors and hardship. I did not trust my feelings but my beliefs. I started asking why before taking any steps.

I consider myself fortunate to have good health, a full-time job, and a roof over my head. However, there are still so many people who are struggling to put food on their tables. Please join me to help those who are struggling. If you have good health, full-time jobs, and a roof over your head, please join me to help those who are struggling. Whether you donate $5 or $500, you will make a huge difference in someone’s life.

No Kid Hungry:

America’s kids need us. The coronavirus is closing schools nationwide, and millions of vulnerable children are losing the school meals they depend on. For some, it’s the only food they’ll receive on a given day. We have a plan to feed kids, but we need your help today to continue our work to ensure every kid gets three meals a day. You can click above to donate to my gofundme page donation going directly to the organization, or you can click on the direct link to the site.

Food Bank of Maryland:

Help make sure all hungry Marylanders have reliable access to nutritious food when you join Sustainers Circle.

Manna Food Center:

PLEASE DONATION ANY AMOUNT YOU CAN AND SHARE THE POST WITH EVERYONE YOU KNOW.

Manna Food Center, a nonprofit organization, strives to eliminate hunger in Montgomery County through food distribution, education, and advocacy. Millions of children go to bed hungry in America every year, sadly it’s worse now! Today, 14 million children regularly miss meals — three times more than during the Great Recession and five times more than before the pandemic.

Many parents have lost their job during the pandemic. Sadly, that shows no sign of stopping. Your donation can bring relief to the millions worried about where their next meal will come from. It’s even worse for Latino and Black families, whose rates of nutrition insecurity have spiked to 25% and 30%. In the world’s wealthiest country, this is unconscionable.

Even before the pandemic, the U.S. Department of Agriculture estimated 37 million people in America struggled with hunger and nutrition. The Centers for Disease Control reports 76% of people killed by COVID-19 had at least one underlying condition, most of which were diet-related. Diet-related diseases also fuel skyrocketing health care costs, which rose from 5% to 28% of the federal budget in the past 50 years.

Let’s make the world better, kinder, brighter. Every dollar you give will create real change. $1 will feed 5 hungry children here in the US, but $1,000 will feed 50,000 starving children overseas. Be the good in the lives of many by giving right now.

In conclusion, living intentionally requires us to actively seek life based on our core beliefs. It’s not one shoe fits all option. Each person is unique in his/her own way. Hence, understanding these differences and working to incorporate such differences is the key.

Mindful Afternoon – No More Midday Slump

Good Afternoon,

“When we are mindful, deeply in touch with the present moment, our understanding of what is going on deepens, and we begin to be filled with acceptance, joy, peace and love.”

— Thich Nhat Hanh

After a busy morning, I settle on my desk, people lazy and drowsy this afternoon. The tryptophan and serotonin from my lunch is competing forcing me to doze of. My eyes are telling me to let go and give in to the demands of the neurotransmitter. My brain is clouded by a thick fog. I can’t see I can’t focus through the haziness of the thick fog. My body is craving for a mid-day pick me up to clear the haze. I take a few deep breaths with with my eyes closed. Now, I am ready.

afternoon

The blazing midday sun shining brightly on my face. I look out the window of see the shimmering in the heat of the midday sun. The sunlit buildings across me, are piercing the clear blue sky and inviting me to join them in bathing in the warm light of the sun. The small pecks of dust mites are dancing in the warm sunlight, slanting through the window. The harmony of the scorching sunlight and the specks are dancing together like shimmering diamonds, and asking for my attention. I look out to watch the fluffy white clouds drift lazily in the gentle breeze.

I join the party with long deep breath followed by short spurts of exhalation. Now, we have a harmonious symphony of rhythm. I have a deep breath and lift my heals. Now my mind choice the rhythmic symphony as I rock up and down for 5 breaths. With these steps I invite my body to join the chorus. My spine moves side-to-side. What an invigorating experience!!!

I take a deep breath and reach my arm to a “T” position. With my inhalation I reach my right arm overhead and sway to the left. I take another breath and bring back my arms back to the “T”. Exhale and sway to right. I continue the rhythmic dance for 5 breaths. I finally end the dance number with a side twist. My body is relax my mind is relaxed and I am energized.

I now close my eyes and let my senses take over. I take few deep breaths with my feet on the ground. I hear the quietness of my surrounding and the sensations of my body. I focus on the bright sun warming my body, my heart beating as the drum beats to the symphony of the sparking specks and the shimmering sunlight. Now my sense of smell, sound, and touch is leading the orchestra. I surrender myself to the senses as I take long breaths.

I am now grounded and energized. Our breaths are always happening in the present moment, always in our bodies. They can act as anchors that can bring us back from our thinking about the past or the future.

I tell myself, “I am here now, I am here”. I get up and take a short 5-minutes walk to continue the practice of being grounded. I am ready to listen, to the blazing midday sun shimmering in the bright blue sky, and sparkling in the horizon. I am taking in the strong golden glow of the sun over the buildings and roads, captivated by the beauty and radiance.

My mind is clear, my body is energized by the afternoon sun, ready to shine and complete the essentials tasks a head. I am read. It’s great time to start with gratefulness, positive thoughts and planning to make it right. Good Afternoon!!!

How do you get over your afternoon slump? Do you have any afternoon rituals that you follow? I look forward to your comments.

Living Intentionally

Living Intentionally For a Better and Fulfilling Life

Hi there my beautiful lovelies! Today I will share will something that has helped me so much in every part of my life. It is called living intentionally.

Living Intentionally

What is living intentionally mean?

“Intentional living means understanding your fundamental beliefs and values, and then actively living your life in line with those values.” Intentional living isn’t a one-time choice. Literally, every decision you make should be made intentionally. You should always be searching out your goals, values, and passions.

What does living intentionally looks like in our daily life?

Intentional living is like taking charge of your finances and being responsible. In terms of everyday life, intentional living is taking charge of your finances and being responsible. You are living intentionally when you pick up good habits that will help you to live a life of meaning. It’s like changing your entire lifestyle. Finally, intentional living starts at the very basic. Since it is about making every decision based on our values, everyone’s intentional lives are unique to themselves.

How to live intentionally?

In order to start intentionally, you need to start at the very basics. Sit down with a pen and paper and write down your core values. Then on every step that you take, for every action make sure that you are upholding those values. Not sure what those core values are? That’s okay. Just be warned, intentional living requires a lot of deep thinking (especially when discovering your values). But if you can make it through that part, you’re off to a great start. Meditation can help you become self-aware.

According to Scott Jeffrey, a career and life coach, identifying core values begins by reflecting on meaningful moments, times of limitation, and necessities in your everyday life. He suggests asking yourself questions and zeroing in on peak experiences in your life, as well as the moments when you felt the need to suppress feelings, and the things which fill you up each day.

The Steps for living intentionally – Begin by Laying The Foundation:

Firstly, in order to live intentionally, remember that every morning is a new day full of decisions and opportunities. You get to pick your attitude and your decisions. You don’t have to let the circumstances of your past negatively determine the pattern of your life in the future. You have a choice in the matter. You do not need to be stuck in the same pattern of living that you have been for years. Just realize that every morning is a new opportunity.

Secondly, life is can’t be lived in a vacuum. It is lived surrounded by a culture that is moving somewhere. Living with intention will require you to take a step back and evaluate the flow of the stream to determine where it is headed, how it is affecting you, and if it is taking you in a direction you desire.

Finally, know who you are. Get a strong handle on your passions, talents, abilities, and weaknesses. Give precious time and energy to this endeavor. It is one of the most valuable things you can do.

Take Steps Towards a More Intentional Living:

The first to living intentionally, stope comparing your lives with others. You were not born to live their life. There is no sense in wasting yours being jealous of theirs. Instead, you were born to live your life – determine today to be good at it. After all, you only get one shot.

Next, identify what you want your life to communicate and contribute. Find a passion to live for that is bigger than yourself. Write it down. It will bring new meaning to your life. It will wake you from the slow death of only living for yourself.

Third, set goals for yourself. Goals move us and goals shape us. Set goals that are directly in line with your defined purpose and core values. By their very nature, they will introduce intentionality into your life.

Our values are our “North Star,” the guiding light in our lives. We can easily become overwhelmed by the pressures of society, the comparison trap, and other forms of shame—this is when we have to identify our values. When we’re able to unpack what really makes us tick, versus what we think should be motivating us, we discover that we don’t need to play by anyone else’s rules.

Fourth, stay focused on your goals and core values. We live in a world of constant connectivity and distraction that is begging for our attention nearly every moment of the day. Learn to turn off the distraction and live your life instead. Turn off the tv and don’t read gossip magazines. Remove nonessential physical belongings that are robbing you of time and energy that could be better spent living with intention. Mine is living in the moment and I take each step keeping that in mind.

Finally, learn from others. Successful people are curious people. They possess the humility to learn from others. Identify people accomplishing your purpose and goals. Then, study them and learn from them.

My dear lovelies! What is your opinion about living intentionally? Do strive to live intentionally? What do you do in order to practice of living intentionally? Please comment below.
