Living with Androgenic Alopecia – Remedy I Cannot Live Without

Hi there my beautiful lovelies! Hope you guys are doing well and staying safe. Today I want to talk to you about a subject requested a lot by my YouTube viewers. It is the oil mixture that my mom made after I first got diagnosed with androgenic alopecia. It has really helped me.

At Home Alopecia Remedy

The number one treatment recommended for alopecia is minoxidil or Rogaine. The direction says to use it every day. However, using it made my hair and scalp itchy and sticky. I would lose hair trying to brush my hair. I had to wash my hair every day making my dry scalp even drier and itchier. Hence my mom suggested the oil mixture as an at-home treatment for alopecia. I accepted it quickly.

I received several requests from some amazing people to talk about the mixture. I am attaching the list of the ingredients and Amazon links. Disclaimer – the remedies I suggested in this post my opinion. I am not representing any one. Additionally, I am not a physician. I am just describing my experience and research that I did for myself to treat my alopecia.

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil contains lauric acids that are nourishing and absorbs into the hair very quickly. As a result, it provides moisture to tame frizz and heal breakage. It can also help improve hair and scalp health. This might make hair look like it’s growing faster. One recent lab study found that coconut oil helped to get rid of some types of fungal infections. Coconut oil may help heal or prevent dandruff and other fungi on the scalp. More research is needed to know if coconut oil has the same health benefits on the skin and scalp.

Olive Oil

Olive oil adds softness and strengthens hair by penetrating the hair shaft and preserving moisture. It also smoothes the outer hair cuticle hence increasing hair shininess. Additionally, olive oil is enriched with Vitamin E, fatty acids, minerals, and other essential nutrients that are important to hair growth. It boosts hair growth, prevents hair loss, makes hair cuticles smooth and shiny. Hence, that’s why I have olive oil as a part of my alopecia treatment.

Onion Oil

To be honest I did not know about it until my mom told me about it. Hence, I did some of my own research. Onion oil is rich in sulfur which prevents breakage and split ends and thinning hair. It also ensures shiny and healthy hair. It acts as a natural condition to prevent dryness and control frizz. This is one part my mom told me has to be there for my alopecia treatment.

Garlic Oil

Garlic has selenium, which helps boost blood circulation for maximum nourishment. Sulfur is also essential for hair care because the element is known as the foundation of keratin, which helps in hair growth. Additionally, it helps to cleanse hair follicles and strengthen them. It also calms the scalp and treats dandruff. Regularly massaging your scalp with garlic oil can strengthen the roots. Hence, I used it as part of the mixture to use it against alopecia.

Castor Oil

Castor oil is the best oil to enrich the scalp. It contains ricinoleic acid and omega-6-fatty acid, which when massaged onto the scalp help in increasing blood circulation and improve hair growth. Dry or damaged hair can especially benefit from an intense moisturizer like castor oil. Applying fats like castor oil to the hair on a regular basis helps lubricate the hair shaft, increasing flexibility and decreasing the chance of breakage. Castor oil may benefit those who experience dandruff, a common scalp condition characterized by dry, flaky skin on the head. Due to castor oil’s ability to reduce inflammation, it may be an effective treatment for dandruff that is caused by seborrhoeic dermatitis. I use it not only for alopecia but also on my very thin blow.

Jojoba Oil

Jojoba oil moisturizes the scalp and may be another effective dandruff remedy. It’s rich in vitamins A, B, C, and E, and copper and zinc. Such vitamins and minerals help nourish and strengthen hair. It is also thought that jojoba oil can prevent hair loss and promote hair thickness. As a wax ester, jojoba sits on the outer surface to help protect the hair from dryness and breakage.

Avocado Oil

Avocado oil moisturizes, repair and strengthen your hair. A 2015 International Journal of Trichology study found that the mineral in avocado oil can help seal cuticle cells, which can prevent hair from breaking., which can prevent hair from breaking. Besides using my hair mixture I always it in my conditioning mixture as well. When you use cold-pressed virgin avocado oil, it maintains all of the fruit’s vitamins and nutrients other than vitamins B and C, as they are water-soluble and thus lost in the extraction process. But avocado oil is still a great source of vitamins A, D, and E, in addition to potassium and lecithin. Moreover, avocado oil is extremely rich in oleic acid and monounsaturated fats, making it one of few oils that can actually penetrate the hair shaft and moisturize your hair, rather than sitting on top and coating your hair.

Rosemary Oil

Rosemary oil can improve both hair thickness and growth due to its ability to improve cellular generation. It has been shown to perform as well as minoxidil or Rogaine. It works by stimulating scalp circulation and can be used to grow longer hair, prevent baldness, or stimulate new hair growth in balding areas. Rosemary oil also slows the graying of hair, promotes shininess, and prevents and reduces dandruff, making it a great tonic for overall hair health and beauty.

Peppermint Oil

Finally, peppermint oil improves hair growth and prevents hair loss. It is also a vasodilator that increases circulation. This can help promote hair growth in the anagen or growth phase. A study done in mice found that peppermint increased the number of hair follicles, follicle depth, and overall hair growth.

My dear lovelies! Hope you found this post useful. After I heard about the mixture from my mom I did my own research. I suggest that you do the same. I am glad that my mom suggested the mixture to me. I hope you find this helpful. Please let me know about your remedy for hair loss.

Relaxation Techniques

Importance of Relaxation

Hi there my beautiful lovelies! Hope you guys are doing well and staying safe. Is your life crazy busy with little time for yourself? If your answer is yes, I have some short relaxation techniques to help you tame stress and take steps keeping in mind the importance of relaxation.

Busy is Not Always Good

Busy lives are often taken as a badge of honor and a marker for self-worth. However, too much busy a schedule can negatively impact your mental and physical well-being. Now, individuals who are busy at work, are overworked, and have a real lack of leisure time are perceived as having higher status. Additionally, some intentionally over-work as a way to avoid negative feelings or situations. However, overworking, busy life can lead to stress.  Stress is a term used to describe the body’s physiological and/or psychological reaction to circumstances that require behavioral adjustment. According to the Japanese National Survey of Health, the most frequent stressors are work-related problems, followed by health-related and then financial problems. According to the study, job stress has been linked to a range of adverse physical and mental health outcomes, such as cardiovascular disease, insomnia, depression, and anxiety.

I can definitely assets to the negative impact stressful busy life. If you remember, five years ago, I joined a position, where I ended up working 16 to 18 hours a day for a year. Additionally, the work environment was toxic, with racism, and so much more. I tried to take a break by taking some time off. At the end of the year, I ended up with multiple ER visits and hospitalization. Hence, I can attest to the negative impact of busy overworked life. Now, look let’s look at the healthcare workers during the pandemic. According to a study, health status and levels of subjective/psychological wellbeing can be negatively influenced by the burnout syndrome experienced by intensive care professionals. Another meta-analysis study showed consistent reports of stress, anxiety, and depressive symptoms in healthcare workers as a result of the pandemic.

What Can Be Done to Relax?

relaxation

Given all the stress from overworking, what can be done? Well, mindfulness-based programs have proven to be a promising intervention in reducing stress.  Mindfulness was originally defined by Jon Kabat-Zinn in 1979 as “paying attention on purpose, in the present moment, and nonjudgmentally, to the unfolding of experience moment to moment”. The Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program is an educationally-based program that focuses on training in the contemplative practice of mindfulness. Researchers have demonstrated that mindfulness interventions can effectively reduce stress, anxiety, and depression in both clinical and non-clinical populations.

How to Incorporate These Relaxation Techniques into Our Busy Lives?

My dear lovelies! One this that we have learned from the pandemic is life is short. Tomorrow is not promised to anyone. Hence, it is our job to ensure that in order to fulfill our mission in life and have a meaningful life, we have to practice self-care. Self-care is broadly defined by Sherman as ‘the self-initiated behavior that people choose to incorporate to promote good health and general well-being’. Hence, after a long, busy day, all we need is just 5 minutes to give ourselves. That 5 minutes will make a huge difference in our lives.

Breathing Exercise – One such technique includes deep breathing exercises. A randomized control trial showed that such a technique appears to reduce the prevalence of PTSD-like symptoms in individuals exhibiting subclinical features of PTSD. Breathing is an innate and automatic bodily process, so you’re doing it whether you’re consciously trying to or not, about 23,000 times per day. Another name for this breathing exercise is yoga breathing. Yoga Breathing or Pranayama is the foundation of yoga practice. It begins with deepening your breathing with the 3-part breath, then moves into more advanced breathing exercises such as Kapalabhati and the Alternate Nostril Breath. Yoga breathing is an important part of health and spiritual practices in Indo-Tibetan traditions. Considered fundamental for the development of physical well-being, meditation, awareness, and enlightenment, it is both a form of meditation in itself and a preparation for deep meditation.

So what do you do?

Think of it in two parts: Breath in slowly and deeply through your nose, allowing your chest and belly to expand as air fills your lungs. Then exhale slowly through your nose. Repeat. That’s the basics of breathing.

Yogaanytime.com

Deep, slow breathing has been shown to also reduce blood pressure. Additionally, both listening to music and deep breathing exercise were associated with a clinically significant reduction in systolic and diastolic blood pressure.

Let’s Practice Some Self-Care

I have incorporated some short guided relaxation techniques that you can use after a long and stressful day. They are all less than 10 minutes. More relaxation videos are available on my YouTube channel.

Hope the relaxation techniques help you in your busy lives. I would love to know if there are any other relaxation techniques that you have found helpful. Please leave your feedback in the comment below.

Easy Ways To Identify Beauty and Hair Products Expiration

How Old Is your Beauty and Hair Products?

Hi there my beautiful lovelies! Hope you guys are doing well and staying. Have you ever wondered if there is an expiration date for your beauty and hair products? The answer is yes. Today I will show you how to identify beauty and hair products expiration dates.

Beauty and Hair Products Expiration

Just like foods and medicine, the beauty and hair products we use have an expiration date. We just have to know where to find it. They are not designed to last forever. After all, makeup loses its quality, becomes harder to apply, and can even become harmful to your skin and cause infections as a result of bacteria buildup over time. If we use them past the expiration date, they can even cause irritation and infections. If you have sensitive skin then you are much more prone to the adverse reaction associated with expired products. When it comes to hair products, expired products can cause hair loss, irritation, and infections of the scalp.

How to Identify Beauty and Hair Products Expiration Date

Unlike food and medicine, beauty and hair products may not have a clear expiration date. You just have to know where to find those information hidden under symbols. If you are lucky some with just clearly say “expiration date” or “best used by” date. However, that’s not the case most of the time. In order to determine how long your products are safe to use, you have to check for tiny symbols on the packaging. One such simbol is the open cream jar symbol. The open cream jar symbol indicates how many months a product is meant to last after you’ve opened them. This icon is called the Period After Opening or PAO. PAO has the open cream jar symbol following by a number and the letter M. ‘M’ stands for month. Hence, the icon basically shows the number of months a product is safe to use after it has been unsealed.

While the US currently doesn’t require cosmetics to have an expiration date by law, the US Food & Drug Administration holds manufacturers responsible for ensuring their products are safe to use — and determining the shelf life of a product is considered part of their duty to consumers. Lip products should be thrown away sooner, usually after a year. Moreover, the FDA recommends getting rid of mascara after it becomes dry to prevent irritation to the eyes.

Beauty and Hair Products Expiration

I have provided a general expiration guide for you above. If you can’t find the expiration date the above is a good reference. Remember every products has an end date, and it is in our best health interest to follow that end date, whether an expiration date of a PAO.

My dear lovelies! I hope you enjoyed the post. I would love to know if you were aware of the expiration date. I look forward to your feedback in the comment section.

Have A Very Sensitive Skin? This is What I do

Hi there my beautiful lovelies! Hope you guys are doing well and staying safe. Today, I want to take the time to talk to you about something very important to me. It’s taking care of sensitive skin.

What is Sensitive Skin?

So, what is sensitive skin and how do you define it. Well I will use the definition from a special interest group of international experts who defined sensitive skin as:

Using the Delphi method, sensitive skin was defined as “A syndrome defined by the occurrence of unpleasant sensations (stinging, burning, pain, pruritus, and tingling sensations) in response to stimuli that normally should not provoke such sensations. These unpleasant sensations cannot be explained by lesions attributable to any skin disease. The skin can appear normal or be accompanied by erythema. Sensitive skin can affect all body locations, especially the face”.

Misery L, Ständer S, Szepietowski JC, Reich A, Wallengren J, Evers AW, Takamori K, Brenaut E, Le Gall-Ianotto C, Fluhr J, Berardesca E, Weisshaar E. Definition of Sensitive Skin: An Expert Position Paper from the Special Interest Group on Sensitive Skin of the International Forum for the Study of Itch. Acta Derm Venereol. 2017 Jan 4;97(1):4-6. doi: 10.2340/00015555-2397. PMID: 26939643.

My Experience With Sensitive Skin

When my skin contacts household or skincare products, it causes stinging, burning, itchiness, redness, or tightness. As you can see from the picture above if I am not careful about what’s touching my skin, I end up with dry skin patches, red bumps, and just redness. I have a combination dry and sensitive skin. Hence, I have to be very careful about the product I use on my skin. I will give you an example, I tried a new exfoliator which led my skin to the above situation. I also get a similar effect if I use those acne/blackhead removal tools. Basically, exfoliators or any of those skin tools are a big no-no for me.

What Do I Do Take Care of My Sensitive Skin

Cleansing – When it comes to cleansers, I don’t use harsh products. Each person responds differently to different cleansing methods. However, I can tell you for sure that “deodorant” soap or highly fragranced soap are no-nos for me since they contain strong detergents and shouldn’t be used on the face. Soap-free cleansers such as mild cleansing bars and sensitive skin bars along with most liquid facial cleansers have less potential for facial skin irritation than soaps. The same is true for cleansing creams and disposable facial washcloths. I love using Honest Beauty Gentle Gel Cleanser with Chamomile. My skin just loves them. I just use gentle cleansers with my fingertips. I never scrub my face, and just rinse with plenty of warm water, then pat dry. If my skin dries out or gets oily, I just try a different cleanser.

Exfoliating always irritate my skin and I never exfoliate. I always make sure not to use products that have alcohol, soap, acid, or fragrance. Instead, look on the label for calming ingredients like aloe, chamomile, green tea polyphenols, and oats. The fewer ingredients in a product, the happier my skin is.

Moisturizing – One thing that is needed for all skin types is moisturizing. I have a combination and sensitive skin. Half of my face is drier than the Sahara desert, and the other half (namely, my T-zone) is oily and prone to breakouts. on top of that, I have sensitive skin. Hence, when it comes to my skin, I always go for a lightweight, water-based, and oil-free moisturizer. Most of all, apply it while your skin is still damp from washing or rinsing to help seal in moisture. I also try to look for soothing ingredients when it comes to my moisturizer and again less is better.

Sunscreen – I cannot say it enough when it comes to any skin type, sunscreen is a must. You will not only protect your skin from cancer but also irritation and sunburn. I wear it every day, even if it’s not sunny and even if it’s cold.

Makeup Product – I just stick to few products for makeup.

If you have sensitive skin, the American Academy of Dermatology recommends the following:

  • Use face powder, which has few preservatives and minimal risk of skin irritation.
  • Use a silicone-based foundation for minimal skin irritation.
  • Do not use waterproof cosmetics; you need a special cleanser to remove them.
  • Use black eyeliner and mascara; they appear to be least allergenic.
  • Use pencil eyeliner and eyebrow fillers; liquid eyeliners may contain latex and may cause an allergic reaction.
  • Throw out old cosmetics; they can spoil or become contaminated.

Skin Test – Before trying any new product and I try a little bit behind my ear and leave it overnight. I have a dry red patch behind my ears than on my face.

My lovelies! I would love to know what you do to take care of your particular skin type? Please comment below.

Let’s make the world better, kinder, brighter. Every dollar you give will create real change. $1 will feed 5 hungry children here in the US, but $1,000 will feed 50,000 starving children overseas. Be the good in the lives of many by giving right now.

Mission Statement

My Individual Mission Statement

Hi there my beautiful lovelies! Hope you guys are doing well and staying safe. Today I want to talk to you about my mission statement in life.

What is a Mission Statement?

Mission Statement

A mission is a formal summary of the aims and values of a company, organization, or individual. A mission statement has three parts: purpose, values, and goals. It defines our values, who we are on how we define success. It helps us stay focus to meet our long-term goals.

What is my Mission Statement?

Keeping the above decision in life I have tried to create my personal mission statement. This mission statement has given me a chance to take a step back whenever I deviate from it. As I have mentioned to you earlier, I believe in living intentionally, and having a mission statement has allowed me to ensure that follow my values with everything I do. My dear lovelies my mission statement in life is:

To strive to be the best version of myself at every aspect on my life, to live in the moment without self-judgement – with love, faith, honesty, integrity, diligence and open mind.

My dear friends, if you have been following me for a while, then you know that I truly believe in living in the moment and always strive to be the best version of myself. I follow mindful-based meditation to help me stay in the moment. Even at work, I don’t try to dwell on things. Instead, I try to learn from any situation good or bad, and work hard to build on that. Why do I do this? This is because, my over 15-year career has taught me firsthand, that dwelling on any one experience will hurt me, mentally and physically. This is especially true for negative experiences. I ended up being sick and have frequently visited the hospital due the physical impact of my negative emotion.

In my personal life, I try to be the best version of myself by living in the moment.  Additionally, I try to ensure that my interaction with family, friends and even strangers are always honest, and non-judgmental. This has allowed me to build a strong relationship with friends and family and I have learned so much about myself from my interactions with others. If there is any negative interaction, I take a deep breath and take the experience as a learning moment. I am not perfect, so I do have negative moments but I really try not to dwell on them and try to make sure things are good because life is too short and I don’t want to live with regrets down the road.

My dear beautiful lovelies! I would love to hear about your individual mission statements. Please comment below.

COVID 19

Healthcare Lessons From The COVID-19 Pandemic

Hi there my beautiful lovelies! Hope you guys are doing well and staying safe. Today, I will talk to you about the lessons I have learned from the pandemic.

Mask is Good

COVID-19 Mask

Before the pandemic, I think we looked at masks as something that only the healthcare professional and sick people wore. However, what the pandemic taught us is that masks can also be a sign of being caring. Wearing a mask not only protects us but those surrounding up.

Masks are a case in point. They are a key COVID-19 prevention strategy because they provide a barrier that can keep respiratory droplets from spreading. Mask-wearing became more common across East Asia after the 2003 SARS outbreak in that part of the world. “There are many East Asian cultures where the practice is still that if you have a cold or a runny nose, you put on a mask,” according to Manisha Juthani, MD, a Yale Medicine infectious diseases specialist.

Telehealth Works

COVID-19 Telehealth

While there are still problems for which you need to see a doctor in person, the pandemic introduced a new urgency to what had been a gradual switchover to platforms like Zoom for remote patient visits. Telehealth has been particularly helpful for my mom. She is severely immunocompromised with many conditions. She has been hospitalized a few times over the past year due to worsening of simple infections. Hence, a virtual appointment is a form of protection for her, removing exposure to other patients.

Vaccine is Powerful

Vaccine

One thing that we have learned from the pandemic is how important vaccine is. After the initial surge in vaccination, the number of new cases and death due to COVID decreased dramatically, showing the effectiveness of the vaccine. However, after the decline of vaccination, and the surge of the delta variant, cases of hospitalization, and death from COVID spike dramatically. The current spike is adversely affected the unvaccinated. Unvaccinated are 11 times more likely to become sick from COVID.

Collaboration is Key

Collaboration

Before touting the success of the COVID vaccine let us talk about why the vaccine worked. It is because this time we saw unprecedented collaboration in the scientific community. Instead of working in silos, the scientific community around the world came together and use the weight of the talent pool to come up with a vaccine that is over 90% effective.

My dear lovelies, usually, I would like to describe research as 6 blind scientists touching various parts of an elephant and coming up with different conclusions. The success of any translational research program lies in the elimination of silos segregating scientists, doctors, and industry professionals from each other. Imagine there where no red tape hindering collaboration and was instead incentivized much life can be saved for breakthrough research.

Racial Inequalities Are Real

Racial Equality

What this pandemic has shown us is that everyone is not treated equally, especially in a pandemic. Racial and ethnic minority groups especially have had disproportionately higher rates of hospitalization for COVID-19 than non-Hispanic white people in every age group, and many other groups faced higher levels of risk or stress. These groups ranged from working mothers who also have primary responsibility for children, to people who have essential jobs, to those who live in rural areas where there is less access to health care. If we want to be the most successful and powerful nation in the world, we have to address this issue of inequalities.

We Need To Take Mental Health Seriously

A behavioral neurologist and neuropsychiatrist believe the number of mental health disorders that were on the rise before the pandemic is surging as people grapple with such matters as juggling work and childcare, job loss, isolation, and losing a loved one to COVID-19.

According to the CDC, the percentage of adults who reported symptoms of anxiety or depression in the past 7 days increased from 36.4 to 41.5 % from August 2020 to February 2021. Other reports show that having COVID-19 may contribute, too, with its lingering or long COVID symptoms, which can include “foggy mind,” anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder.

My dear lovelies! I would love to know what you have learned from the pandemic. I look forward to your feedback.

Temporary Job

Should You Take a Temporary Job?

Temporary Job

Hi there my beautiful lovelies! Hope you guys are doing well and staying safe. Today, I want to talk to you about a question I get a lot. It’s if it is a good idea to take temporary contract position.

Should You Take a Temporary Job?

The short answer is it depends. I had a lot of messages through LinkedIn about 6 months position with a possibility to extend.

When Is It A Good Idea to Accept Temporary Job?

Temporary Job Gives You Much Needed Experience

If you are very new in your career with little or no previous experience, it is a good idea to accept to take a temporary job position. I can tell you from my over 2 decades of work experience since high school, employers prefer some experience. It’s an added cost, human time used, to train someone for a position. Hence, I can tell you that if I see someone with 6 months experience and someone with no experience, I would should the person with 6 months of experience. If you are right out of school it is a good idea to take that short-term position. After I graduated from the undergrad program I had a very hard time finding a position. I was also applying for grad school. Whether it’s a potential employer or a potential graduate program, both prefer a candidate with some experience.

Temporary JobFills Any Gaps in Resume/Application

No one likes a candidate who just sits at home. That does not come out as a good experience. Hence, whether you were laid off from your previous experience or you are right out of school, having a temporary job shows your dedication and hard work. You can explain to a potential employer or school that the temporary job was to ensure continuous learning. Trust me, any potential employer/school will appreciate that dedication. One thing that you will hear everywhere is that companies and schools don’t like gaps in resumes. For example, I had a year gap from undergraduate to grad school. I filled that gap with volunteering experience and a temporary job.

Tempory Job Helps Pay Bill

In addition to filling any gap in your resume, a temporary job provides you with the much-needed income. Most of my previous positions were grant-related, which meant that if the grant ran out and there was no additional money, I would be laid off. Since I did not have the experience, I took to position, for the paycheck and the much-needed experience. I had a vast amount of student loans, hence I could not afford to not have a job.

Hence, if you are laid off, it is a good idea to accept a temporary job so that you can get the paycheck to pay bills while giving you the cushion to apply for the more desired position. In addition, as mentioned above, it also fills the gap in your resume.

Changing Career

If you are changing your career to something very different from your current career, a temporary job position is fine. This is because it will be hard to get a more permanent position when you have no experience in that field. Hence, just like coming fresh out of school, if you are changing your career, the temporary job position will provide you with the much-needed experience and paycheck. Moreover, it will give you a cushion timeframe for applying for a more permanent position while filling the gap in your resume.

You Want a More Permanent Position With That Employer

If you are interested in a permanent position with the employer, taking a temporary job position will put your foot in the door of that employer. It is easier to find a position within the company than outside. Any employer will give the highest position to internal candidates than external ones. However, just keep in mind the consideration between you and external candidates with a lot more experience and credentials, that candidate will have a better chance of getting that job.

When Is It Not a Good Idea To Accept a Temporary Position?

Mid-Level Career

With over 15 years of experience in my current field, it is not a good idea for me to accept a temporary position. First, it is harder to get my desired mid-level position for my field. I will give you an example, if the past year, I have been passively applying for various positions. I have applied for over 100 positions and interviewed for over 30% of those positions. I received only 2-3 offers out of those, which I ended up not accepting. Hence, it will not be a good idea to accept a temporary position because it is more likely for me to be out of that job before finding another position. Additionally, finding a position with a mid-level salary is harder.

Employers Don’t Look at It Kindly

If I have a full-time permanent position and I accept a 6 months position, potential employers will not like that since it negatively depicts my work motivation. Additionally, employers don’t like people who change jobs frequently. It shows that you are not serious about your job. However, as mentioned above, if you are laid off for no fault of your own, accepting a temporary position shows that you are serious about your career and are responsible.

Benefits

If you accepting a temporary position it is likely that you will not be eligible for company benefit, where it’s insurance or 401K. If you are like me, you need to have medical benefits at all times. A temporary position will not provide that and will not meet my basic benefit needs.

Conclusion

In conclusion, whether to accept a temporary situation depends on your particular situation. I for one recommend that if you are going to take a term position, please choose one which is at least two years long. This way you will have more time to look for the right permanent position for you. However, if you have to pay bills and don’t have any option please take the six-month position.

My dear lovelies! Hope you find this post helpful. I would love to hear your feedback. If you have advice your opinion about temporary positions, please add it to the comment.

20 Years Later – Remembrance Of 9/11 Part 2

Hi there my beautiful lovelies! Hope you guys are doing well and staying safe. 20 years ago today our lives have changed forever. 20 years ago on this day, two planes crashed into the two towers of the World Trade Center, one crashed into the Pentagon, while crashed into a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, just 20 minutes flying time away from the Capitol building.

As I am writing this post my eyes have filled with tears remembering that tragic day. Twenty years have passed by but the emotion is still so raw and fresh. I still remember that clear that day.

Remembering 9/11

After I spoke to my mom, I started to walk home, a journey of 2 miles. As I started my walk home, I saw fighter planes in the sky. It was then it started to dawn on me the severity of the situation. Any business with a TV inside had small crowds hovering over it. It was at that time I started to walk fast. A two-mile walk, which usually is not a bad walk, felt long and hard. I started to think about the lives affected. What people are going through. I was very scared and was panicking. I finally felt some ease watching my mom’s face walking towards me. I hugged her tight and we went to our roof. From there, we could clearly see the black smoke coming out of the Pentagon. I walked into the apartment just to see one of the towers collapsing. I was met by my screaming grandfather, who hugged me tightly.

My friends, let’s take the time to honor the legacy of the heroes lost and the innocent lives lost. That horrific day changed our lives but it also showed us the strength of coming together, united against a common enemy.

We will never forget.

9/11

20 Years Later – Remembrance of 9/11 Part 1

Hi there my beautiful lovelies! Hope you guys are doing well and staying safe. Today, I want to talk about the day 20 years ago tomorrow that changed our lives forever.

Remembering 9/11

I bet we, all Americans, can still recall clearly what we were doing the moment the first plane hit the North Tower of the World Trade Center on that clear Tuesday of September 11, 2001. I for one was on the nation’s capital and heard the plane crashing into the Pentagon. I remember I was going to my Biology lab at GWU. I just started my freshman year in college and had so much anxiety and dealing with the pressure of starting college life.

As I was about to enter the lab, I received a phone call on my then large cell phone, saying that the phone hit the World Trade Center. I did not believe her. I told my mom to stop kidding and hung up on her. When I entered the lab I could hear whispering and the confirmation that the plane hit the World Trade Center. I still remember the loud pop sound outside, sounding like the sound of a car backfiring. After half hour we heard the worse news of my teen life. We were told that two planes hit the two towers of the World Trade Center and one hit the Pentagon and the university has shut down.

My friends, I left the building just to be met with police cars and crazy downtown traffic. Stores were closing left and right. It was then I started to feel anxious – anxious about the unknown and what has happened. My friends, at that time we did not have the world at our fingertips through smartphones or tablets. I was walking through the chaotic downtown Washington D.C. completely blind to what was happening. I tried to call my mom but my phone did not have any service. Nobody’s phone had any service.

Through all the chaos, I saw a store open with an old gentleman sitting inside. I went inside and was met with warmth and kindness. I can’t tell you what that meant to me at that time. Due to the kind gentleman, I was able to call my mom and let her know what I was okay and will be coming home soon. I thanked the kind gentleman and started my journey home.

My dear friends! It is still hard for me to talk about that day. Hence, I will write more tomorrow. I would love to hear about your memory from that day. Let us take the time to pay tribute to the lives lost that day.

Please take care.
