Inappropriate Sinus Tachycardia – What?

Hi there my beautiful lovelies! Hope you guys are doing well and staying safe. Today, I want to talk to you about a topic that has made me miserable, Inappropriate Sinus Tachycardia.

What is Inappropriate Sinus Tachycardia?

According to Cedars Sinai, Inappropriate Sinus Tachycardia (IST) occurs when the heart beats very quickly without a good reason. It is a type of heart rhythm abnormality called an arrhythmia.

What is Tachycardia you ask? Tachycardia is the medical term for a fast heart rate. In adults, a heart rate greater than 100 beats per minute when a person is at rest is considered tachycardia. I have grown up with a resting heart rate in the 90s and above 100. All the tests didn’t reveal any structural heart disease.

How Does IST Effect You?

Well IST will not kill you. The heart’s electrical signal usually starts in the sinoatrial (SA) node, which receives signals from nerves. These nerves can cause the heart to beat more quickly or more slowly, depending on the body’s needs. Thete are many usual reason why heart might beat faster such as with a fever, during exercise, or with anxiety or stress. But in IST, the heart beats faster for unknown reasons. The heart rate may increase on its own without any stimulation. Other times, the heart rate rises because of a trigger. But it increases more than it should. If the heart beats very quickly, it may not be able to fill fully between beats. Slightly less blood may then get out to the body.

What causes IST?

IST has many causes. Experts do not understand all of them well. Sometimes, IST results from inappropriate signaling of the nerves that increase the heart’s rate. The nerves that lower the heart’s rate may also not work as they should.

What are the symptoms of inappropriate sinus tachycardia?

Some people with IST do not have any symptoms. But others do. Possible symptoms include:

  • Sensation of a rapid heartbeat (palpitations), which may be uncomfortable
  • Shortness of breath
  • Dizziness
  • Fainting
  • Chest pain
  • Anxiety
  • Headaches
  • Decreased ability to exercise

Growing, I used to love dancing but whenever I did, I was out of breath with heart rate over 170 bpm, and I would always experience syncope or temporary loss of consciousness caused by a fall in blood pressure. One time I was even taken to the emergency room with a heart rate over 200. I always knew that my heart beats faster than everyone.

I took beta-blockers for years until I it didn’t work. Hence recently, I was put on medication, known as  used for the symptomatic management of stable heart-related chest pain and heart failure not fully managed by medication. This has lowered my result

My dear lovelies! Hopefully you are got some explanation on this rare condition.

Step By Step Painting Challenge #2 | Moonlight Seascape Painting Tutorial

Hi there my beautiful lovelies! Hope you guys are doing well and staying safe. The past month have nothing but stressful for me. Even meditation did not help with this level of stress. Hence I decided to focus on something I love. I have been painting and drawing for a while now. However, the past several years, life got on the way.

Nevertheless, the recent stressor has compelled me to stop and take a look at what I am doing and can do to help with my stress. It is then that I decided to take up my sketch pencil and my paints. What I forgot with my busy life, how art has helped me to step back and look at my life and then directly address any issue. Whenever you are consumed in your art, there are times, when it’s very hard to see the big picture. It is then you need to take a break and comeback with a new perspective. You will be able to see what you have done so far and where you want to go next.

My paintings have allowed me to take that break and come back with a new perspective about the stressor. That in turn has made it easier for me to find the next step towards mindfulness. My art has become my new mindful meditation. Today I want to share with you step by step tutorial of one such art and I hope you can find it as much therapeutic and it has been for me.

CAUSES CLOSE TO MY HEART

PLEASE DONATE DIRECTLY TO THE ORGANIZATIONS THROUGH MY FUNDRAISING LINKS:

I consider myself fortunate to have good health, a full-time job, and a roof over my head. However, there are still so many people who are struggling to put food on their tables. Please join me to help those who are struggling. If you have good health, full-time jobs, and a roof over your head, please join me to help those who are struggling. Whether you donate $5 or $500, you will make a huge difference in someone’s life.

No Kid Hungry:

America’s kids need us. The coronavirus is closing schools nationwide, and millions of vulnerable children are losing the school meals they depend on. For some, it’s the only food they’ll receive on a given day. We have a plan to feed kids, but we need your help today to continue our work to ensure every kid gets three meals a day. You can click above to donate to my gofundme page donation going directly to the organization, or you can click on the direct link to the site.

Food Bank of Maryland:

PLEASE DONATION ANY AMOUNT YOU CAN AND SHARE THE POST WITH EVERYONE YOU KNOW.

Manna Food Center, a nonprofit organization, strives to eliminate hunger in Montgomery County through food distribution, education, and advocacy. Millions of children go to bed hungry in America every year, sadly it’s worse now! Today, 14 million children regularly miss meals — three times more than during the Great Recession and five times more than before the pandemic.

Many parents have lost their job during the pandemic. Sadly, that shows no sign of stopping. Your donation can bring relief to the millions worried about where their next meal will come from. It’s even worse for Latino and Black families, whose rates of nutrition insecurity have spiked to 25% and 30%. In the world’s wealthiest country, this is unconscionable.

Even before the pandemic, the U.S. Department of Agriculture estimated 37 million people in America struggled with hunger and nutrition. The Centers for Disease Control reports 76% of people killed by COVID-19 had at least one underlying condition, most of which were diet-related. Diet-related diseases also fuel skyrocketing health care costs, which rose from 5% to 28% of the federal budget in the past 50 years.

Let’s make the world better, kinder, brighter. Every dollar you give will create real change. $1 will feed 5 hungry children here in the US, but $1,000 will feed 50,000 starving children overseas. Be the good in the lives of many by giving right now.
