The Current Crisis in America

The American Crisis:

Hi there my beautiful lovelies! Hope you guys are doing well and staying safe. Today, I want to dedicate this post to the millions of Americans who are struggling with no fault of their own. In the past 200 days, hundreds and thousands of small businesses have closed their doors forever.

Economic Crisis:

In addition, millions of Americans are struggling to put food on their table or pay their bills. There are cries for help on all fronts. Every time I turn on the news, I see the stories about the families struggling to survive. According to Maslov’s hierarchy of needs, the most basic needs that should be met before anything else is that of the physiological needs, such as food, water, warmth, and rest. Nonetheless, so many Americans are now struggling to meet that basic need.

Food banks are overwhelmed with long lines of desperate Americans. When I close my eyes, I still can hear the cries for help, of restaurant owners and struggling families. I wonder angrily if Washington can hear those cries. Washington has become so partisan that they refuse to hear the desperation of millions.

I for one, am tired of all the childish bickering of Washington. I know what these families are going through since I myself have gone through times when meeting the basic needs was a struggle. My dad’s restaurant went under due to the lack of help he received after the last recession. The stress of those days when my dad didn’t know how to pay rent for his restaurant. I get it. For years, I have seen my dad come home empty-handed because his goal was to make sure that his employees got paid first.

My dear lovelies! Like the COVID-19 pandemic, these that so many Americans are facing is real. So many have lost their jobs or have been furloughed that they are in fear of eviction on top of everything. Washington may have forgotten these desperate small businesses and struggling families, let us not do the same. If you are fortunate enough to put food on your table, pay your bills, and have a roof over your head, please help out those who are struggling. If we all pitch in, we can make a difference in their lives.

My dear lovelies! Please join me in helping out struggling families. You can do your part by ordering food from local restaurants, donating to your local food banks, or helping out organizations that help pay rent for those who need it the most. During the early part of the pandemic, I helped raise money for the United Ways, to help pay rent to those affected by the pandemic.

Currently, I have started a fundraiser on behalf of the Food Bank of Maryland. If you would like to make any donation please click here and make your tax-deductible donation. Whether you donate $5 or $500 any amount you contribute will make a huge difference in someone’s life. As Ann Frank famously said, “No one has ever become poor by giving”. My dear beautiful lovelies! I leave you with these great quotes about giving back. May we all stay safe, and have access to food, water, warmth, and rest.

“It’s not how much we give but how much love we put into giving.”

– Mother Theresa

“There is no exercises better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up.”

– John Holmes

“When we give cheerfully and accept gratefully, everyone is blessed.”

– Maya Angelo
