The Lack of Courage In Today’s Politics

Hi there my beautiful lovelies! Hope you guys are doing well and staying safe. I have always kept myself away from any political arguments in order to have an open mind and try to understand both sides of the aisle. However, the state of today’s politics has compelled me to speak up as Martin Luther King Jr. said, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” Today, the world is witnessing the immense lack of courage that the current GOP leaders are showing.

Current Injustice:

In addition to the racial and healthcare equalities, there are injustices happening in our democracies like never before. What I find flabbergasted, is the misinformation about our democracy and healthcare that are going viral. These are a dire threat to not only our democracies but our well being as well. I will not stand by these movements. As public health and data scientist, I will continue to rise up against misinformation.

Lack of Courage:

What is annoying is watching the GOP politicians caving in to Trump’s unjust and completely false statements about the election. When did the party of Lincoln become so cowardly and the minions of Trump? What is so dangerous is the notion that 106 House republicans have signed the Trump-backed ridiculous lawsuit by the Texas Attorney General to overthrow millions of votes in 4 different states. Are you *** kidding me? With more than 3,100 people dying in one day, but these minions and Trump does not have the time to address this deadly virus that is killing more than the total death from Pearl Harbor and September 11. Instead, they have plenty of time to sign a phony lawsuit to overthrow millions of votes.

My dear lovelies! If they actually believe these bogus claims, these Republicans should all resign as their victory in congress is not legitimate either. This is the same election that gave more wins to the GOP at federal and state levels. If they believe that the election was illegitimate, so is their own election. These people are too keep weak to rise up. Trump and his minions are mad that they lost this election largely due to non-white voters. They are more interested in self-preservation than speak out. The lack of courage is very telling.

In the current state, so many people are struggling to pay bills and put food on the table. So many businesses are on the verge of going under through no fault of their own. However, Trump and his minions are not interested in that. Don’t they have the responsibility to take care of the people who voted them in? How complacent and selfish do you have to ignore the deaths of over 292,190 to COVID-19 and the cry 15,618,438 who are infected. How partisan do you have to be to ignore the cry of so many frontline healthcare workers who overwhelmed and tired. What about those who are working so hard to take care of their family?

My dear friends! Let us all rise up against the absurdity and make it clear that we, the people of the United States want to fight against the pandemic that took the lives of 2,768 Americans and infected 224,452 just overnight. We are having Pearl Harbor and September 11 level deaths every day. That is not acceptable. We need to hold the leaders, no matter which party they belong to, responsible. The politicians have the money to file bogus lawsuits but not to help millions of Americans.

I will end today with a request to help the Maryland Food Bank with any amount you can. During this season of giving, would you please join me in helping so many people who are struggling to bring food to their tables? I consider myself blessed to have a job, a roof over my head, and food to eat. However, many are struggling to meet these basic needs for survival. Let us all join to help. Whether you give $5 or $500 every little bit helps. Let us not be complacent like Washington, and do our park to help each other during this deadly pandemic.

With this, I will end this post. May God keep us all safe and bless the people of the world. I leave with these quotes about our democracy and giving back.

“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.”

– Mahatma Gandhi
