First Aid Beauty Review

Hi There! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas holiday with your loved ones.  I hope you had the chance to enjoy being in the moment and creating lasting memories. What did you have in your stockings and under the Christmas tree? I had so much fun that I forgot that our heat pump is broken and the temperature is just in the 50s inside the house. Enough about me, today I want to talk about two products that I had the chance to use the past few months.

First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads ($30): This is a daily treatment pad that contains just the right amount of lactic and glycolic acids to safely and effectively exfoliate, tone, and brighten. The pads contain just the right amount of lactic and glycolic acids to make them safe and effective for daily use, even for people with sensitive skin. Cucumber and Indian gooseberry tone the face, while lemon peel and licorice root leave the skin looking bright and glowing. Regular use of these pads will smooth the skin’s texture, providing a perfect canvas for flawless makeup application.

Benefits: Glycolic acid is part of the group of active compounds known as AHA’s (alpha hydroxy acids). Derived from cane sugar: It has the smallest molecules in the group so is able to penetrate skin deeply and easily, making it the most effective for treating fine lines, acne, blackheads, dullness, oiliness etc. Lactic acid on the other hand is one of the most popular AHAs in skin care today, marketed as a powerful ingredient that helps reduce acne breakouts and the appearance of wrinkles and other signs of aging.

How to Use: In order to use this pad, just wipe pad across face, neck, and chest, once or twice daily after cleansing.

Ingredients: Lactic Acid to exfoliate and condition the skin; Glycolic Acid to exfoliate and balance pH;  Indian Gooseberry: to tone the skin.  It also coantain FAB Antioxidant Booster that is comprised of licorice root, feverfew, and white tea to combat free radicals. Other ingredients include; Water, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Glycerin, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Water, Lactic Acid, Glycolic Acid, Sodium Hydroxide, Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment Filtrate, Camellia Sinensis (White Tea) Leaf Extract, Chrysanthemum Parthenium (Feverfew) Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Peel Extract, Citrus Nobilis (Mandarin Orange) Fruit Extract, Hyaluronic Acid, Phyllanthus Emblica (Indian Gooseberry) Fruit Extract, Polysorbate 20.

Verdict: I absolutely love this product. As I have mentioned above, both lactic acid and glycolic acid are great for exfoliating skins, improving dark spot, and even treat fine lines and age spots. I still have blister scars from my trip to freezing cold, and windy city of Chicago in 2014 and this is a great addition to treat that. Stay tuned for my dark spot skin care regimen. I have combination dry sensitive skin and this doesn’t aggregate it at all. I got this as a gift and I this, in addition to other skincare regimen, did help with my scars. This is no magical product and I don’t know if it works by itself but is a great combination with other skincare product.

Detox Eye Roller ($26): This is a metal roller ball that gently distributes lymphatic build-up from underneath the eyes, alleviating under eye puffiness and dark circles. The Detox Eye Roller gently distributes lymphatic build-up from underneath the eyes, which revitalizes, smoothes, and brightens the eye area. It contains caffeine, a potent vasoconstrictor that constricts the fine blood vessels that cause dark under eye circles and within minutes of application, the appearance of the under eye area is improved with more dramatic results over time. Sodium Hyaluronate and advanced peptides recapture lost volume and increase collagen production to reduce fine lines. Witch hazel protects and soothes the very delicate skin under the eye and the FAB Antioxidant Booster combats free radicals.

How to Use: In order to use this roller just turn it over and shake well. Then gently roll the tip from inner to outer corners of the undereye area 2 or 3 times. Apply twice daily or as needed.

It also contains advanced Peptides that recapture lost volume and increase collagen production to reduce fine lines. Witch Hazel in it protects and soothes the very delicate skin under the eye. Finally, Sodium Hyaluronate, one of the natural moisturizing factors found in the skin, is in the roller to keep skin from losing water and to maintain skin’s young, smooth, non-flaky appearance. Other ingredients include Water (Aqua), Glycerin, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel ) Water, Butylene Glycol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Camellia Sinensis (White Tea) Leaf Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Palmitoyl Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Palmitoyl Oligopeptide, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7, Sodium Polyacrate, Ethoxydiglycol, Polysorbate 20, Caffeine, Menthyl Lactate, PEG-12 Dimethicone, Aminomethyl Propanol, Carbomer, Benzoic Acid, Caprylyl Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Mica (CI 77019), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891).

Verdict: Even though this roller has all the amazing ingredients, it did not help me with my horrible dark circles. I have been using this for about 3 weeks now and have not seen a difference yet. Perhaps it is just not me. I saw one reviewer say that perhaps it’s for severe dark circles or puffiness, and I have severe dark circle. I have actually seen better results with IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Eye Cream, which can be found at Sephora for $48. I have not found my magic under eye cream yet. I have seen some difference with the IT eye cream, but the FAB detox roller had not made any difference for my dark circle. Perhaps if you have lighter dark circles, this product is for you.
